I don't understand how the clubs could possibly have thought there would be any other reaction. What did they honestly think would happen? It was always going to be as unacceptable to any football fan as the move of Wimbledon or Hull "Tigers". Just naive to the point of stupidity

Also very odd that the clubs didn't seem to try to get players and managers not on board before making the announcement. Tactics last seen by the Bake-off going to Channel 4.
