@R_Bkr @AndyCoxDCS @theJeremyVine @jdickenson1990 No entirely sure what the point of the comparison is. These aren't the only causes of death, public policy can tackle more than one thing at once, these are issues that are dealt with by different branches of government with different budgets. RTC harm is generally underfunded.
English

@benjaminpa @AndyCoxDCS @theJeremyVine @jdickenson1990 Yes! But the point I was trying (badly) to make was if your teenage son was twice as likely to be stabbed as to be knocked off his bike - which is what the statistics suggest - where would you like councils and police to concentrate their efforts?
English

@johnredwood Because private train companies make it more expensive to travel within the UK than to go abroad and the beaches and rivers are full of sewage thanks to private water companies
English

@AndyCoxDCS @theJeremyVine @jdickenson1990 111 is to many but reflect there were also 282 deaths due to stabbing last year too. If the overall aim is to save lives- which it ought to be - where can limited public funds be best spent to save the most lives?
English

@jdickenson1990 @theJeremyVine you really shouldn't be allowed a driving license.
English

@theJeremyVine Because you're a little bitch who cries about nothing on Twitter. Get a grip mate, honestly you are an embarrassment.
English

@johnredwood Two very different things. But tory government is responsible for misery of both groups.

@lisakeb007 @theJeremyVine if he can't see he shouldn't be driving.
English

@theJeremyVine You assume that, because you can clearly see him from far away - a man sitting in a large metal box on wheels - he can also clearly see you - a man, wearing dark clothes, on a skinny little bicycle.

To all the presenters pulling out of the show in solidarity with #Lineker, no problem, why don't you leave the taxpayer funded #BBC then you all can be as sanctimonious and vocal as you like. Or lets #DefundTheBBC

@PaulLomax @FrequentFlats @peterwalker99 why do you think the author is biased? It's a pretty serious statement to make about a researcher
English

@FrequentFlats @benjaminpa @peterwalker99 You think the author isn’t biased? Why can the author be biased but critics can’t? That’s just an ad hominem argument.

@francesca_kms @HappyHaringey @CycleIslington @hackney_cycling @Hackneycyclist @London_Cycles @HaringeyLiving @HaringeyCyclist @BGWG_Streets @HealthyStAnns @RailtonLTN Really great. So maddening that this isn't the norm everywhere. And it's not because people - especially kids - don't want to cycle

@benjaminpa @PaulHowarthUK Tell my little old mum that. 25 extra mins of pollution trying to get into her road
English

@saltyboy9 @PaulHowarthUK It should not be an easy, comfortable option because it's so socially harmful.
English

@benjaminpa @PaulHowarthUK How come? Do we deserve some sort of punishment?
English

@saltyboy9 @PaulHowarthUK You should be miserable driving in London.
English

@PaulHowarthUK Nothing been debunked. Every driver in london is miserable. We’ll talk with our votes when the time comes

@CloverSummers @marksandspencer How is it that when you overtake a cyclist you allow 1.5m, a short distance later when in traffic that same cyclist squeezes past you on nearside or down centre of road between traffic not allowing 1.5m distance!! When you move again you have to pass same cyclist and on it goes!
English

@MichaelEWhyte @AnnGreggsRN @StagecoachYrks How do you expect anyone to start riding a bike if this is considered normal and safe passing? It's clearly not as there should be 1.5m clearance for a pass like this.
English

@AnnGreggsRN @StagecoachYrks Another cyclist obviously not confident enough to be on the road.. the bus is just doing his job it is a tight road .. but you have the full of the cycle lane? If not confident in traffic you really should not be out on the busy road
English
