@mattpocockuk If you have no context to start with, how would you recommend building it up?

/grill-me is my most popular skill ever. I get 5-10 messages a day about how it’s changed people’s workflows for the better But… I’ve stopped using it for code. Here’s the improved version:

@longislandviper I know little of GI Joe but spotted this in a local shop. Let me know if it’s valuable to pick up and I’ll send it all the way from the place you detest so much, Europe.

@joshm I could see this doing wonders for accessibility. I mean it’d wipe the floor with a screen reader.

To be clear, this is an internal prototype build—it’s not Dia. We also don’t envision you actually watching the FSD cursors. This is just a proof-of-concept sandbox to muck around. The production version will be more deeply-integrated into Dia browser. But reliability is bad!

Here's a demo of full self-driving for Dia browser, made by @nateparrott. You send your (second) cursor off to do work in another tab for you, while you continue on other stuff in parallel. FSD reliability is not good enough for production but we'll get there in 2025.

@joshm @t3dotgg @browsercompany This is not reflective of anything I’ve experienced. I’ve had no performance issues since I started using Arc in January '23. Using it day in day out as a personal and development browser. "Arc is actually dead" seems very hyperbolic.

Okay now you’re just fear mongering to get views. We’ve had our entire performance engineering team staffed on Arc non-stop this entire year. You can criticize my decision to build a second product but it’s not fair to slander my team, who has been working their assess off. Building a novel browser across platforms is extremely hard for a small team. If you’d like to DM or email me details I’d be happy to jump on it.

I reported massive Arc performance issues to @browsercompany over a year ago. I was promised a resolution. I followed up with the engineers on the team last week. They forwarded me to "memberships support". I think Arc is actually dead.

📝 I started to write a hand-written todo list every morning and it kinda helps me through the day (which I didn’t really expect). Crossing things off feels good, too 😄

Wonder how many people scoffing at the PS5 Pro price that paid ~£200 to add an extra 1TB of storage to their original PS5. Total cost is not much shy of the £700 mark (£449 + £200). PS5 Pro includes a 2TB drive by the way... 🙃

@TkDodo I guess that’s where something like Relay helps (not for your average team though obviously!), or we’re just hoping we can keep track of what needs to be loaded.

prefetching is hard. How do you ensure that what you prefetch in route loaders is also what gets used in components 🤔

@leeerob Even if you don’t go full Neovim, taking the motions back to VS Code is really valuable. My VS Code is as basic as Neovim, with the basic motions and can always hop back to the more “IDE” features if I need. Can’t fully commit, ha.

@ChaseRoossin I'm slow 🤣 Barely used vim so just trying to learn the motions. Been in VS Code for a long time now and so used to arrow key navigation and text selection.

hear me out: for react query, drop query key management, and use queryOptions instead – we followed this pattern at Earn, and things are much simpler now @TkDodo has a great blog post on this as well: tkdodo.eu/blog/the-query…
