Everyone cries ‘tax the rich more’, but look at the facts The top 1% now pay 33 % of all income tax The bottom 50% only pay 9% of all income tax A £150k earner pays £53,460 in tax A £25k earner pays just £2,486 in tax It takes 21x £25k earners to contribute was one £150k earner does in tax The problem is not the rich The problem is how much tax is wasted

@tSHandJ Problem with the new Bullseye is there is too much clapping, almost more clapping than not clapping. Gives me a headache. They even clap each prize announced on the prize board. "And here's Sharon" clap Hits black section clap "Next up frank" clap Hits prize clap.

@MattGubba Well done Matt. I've been trying to tell MPs about @Jeremy_Hunt 's 30% corporation tax rise 3 years ago on small businesses and now this. The only sector of the economy with a direct income tax rise (on working people!). I bet RR thinks Div tax is only paid on stock market divs.

Small business owners on average incomes are about to get hammered again next year. Labour is raising the basic-rate dividend tax from 8.75% to 10.75%. It sounds tiny on paper... just “2%”. In reality it’s a 23% increase in the tax bill for the average small business owner. The typical UK micro-company owner earns around £40k a year in total income. Under this budget they’ll lose £920+ straight off the top for doing nothing except running a business in Britain. At a time when costs are soaring, margins are shrinking, and growth is desperately needed, the government has chosen to punish the very people keeping the economy alive. This isn’t “fairness” or “balance”. It’s anti-enterprise policy, plain and simple. If you want a healthier economy, stop squeezing the small businesses that create half the nation’s jobs. Britain needs more business owners; policies like this will only drive more of them abroad.
