Another year where my Creative Writing students amaze me with their poetry books! Thanks to @benlamp83 @PirateInnovate @PewaukeeHS @PewaukeeSD for collaboration with the covers.

I personally bought some thin hardboard to make a CNC cutout of my friend's artwork! Definitely a learning experience for me when it comes to applying vinyl 😴 #FabLab @ShopBotTools @FabFndn @fabacademany @ShopBot_Sallye

Ss in Ms. Klemme’s AP Chem created vinyl cut designs to place on aluminum discs. Vinyl acted as a resist to the acidified copper nitrate solution they used to plate the aluminum. Appreciate the Ss explaining the chemistry behind the reaction and the designs look awesome!

Mrs. Fruth’s future entrepreneurs stopped by to make promotional items for their companies. They did an amazing job using @canva to create their logos, then cut the designs on our vinyl cutter!

Check out these awesome mindfulness graphics Ss created in Elements of Health and Medicine! Mrs. Coleman and Mrs. Bartz expertly guided these students through the design thinking process - the Ss gathered feedback and created iterations of their designs. Designed using @canva

6th grade math working on Geometry and creating their own tangram puzzles with shapes. Ss use Google drawing to make designs, cut on our laser engraver, and use markers to make them look fantastic. Tomorrow they discover the area of their shapes and trade puzzles with partners

Hitting the ground running! Mrs. Olson’s Ceramics classes stopped by to design and 3D print custom makers marks for their pottery this year. Cool mashup designing in @Canva and modeling in @tinkercad . Excited to see these in action!

Another assistive tech 8th grade group produced a working switch with interchangeable buttons, writing utensil holder w/multiple slots, 2 prototype retractable arms, spoon holder, and a toothpaste dispenser.

Work in progress, but a cool interactive map being created by Ss in @Yuskistory class to teach about Indigenous tribes in WI. Ss designed in Illustrator, cut map on our new CNC router and engraving information with the laser. Great use of our space and technology!

8th grade Ss working on assistive tech prototypes. This group selected a modified pencil holder for a child, braille key caps for chromebook, and sending a modified palm pen holder to a student in Chicago. Fun to see prototypes coming together and hear Ss discuss further mods

Mrs. Simono’s Child Development class stopped by to create developmentally appropriate childrens’ toy prototypes. Love the diversity and creativity of this project, Ss did a wonderful job using both technology and their hands to create.

Love how Ss are using @canva this year. Couple examples from a SS class studying Rev War. These Ss created magazine covers; could be a cool collaborative class project - create a magazine layout on a topic. Half class covers colonies, other half British. Lots of possibilities

Love the 3D print and robot design that my 4K student brought home from school! Thank you @rooncol for providing awesome experiences for my son and all of our young learners, you are amazing.

Today might have been the strangest day of my career, and I’ve had some days

Mr. Yuskis’s Experiencing WI classes have been hard at work creating interactive learning opportunities for 4th graders. Board games, card games, log flumes, and model ships are just some of the things they’ve created to teach about our great state.

Mrs. Simono’s Fashion Analysis and Construction class has been working had to create custom logos, stamps, and promotional items for their personal brand this semester. A great way of combining hands on and machine making!

@rooncol He told me about that at dinner! Hard to beat a first day with dinosaurs, robots, a new best friend, a new library book, and of course a big playground. He loves his new school already.

Life throws you curveballs. Sometimes you get lucky and hit one out of the park. Excited and proud to have my son right across campus. First day of his Pirate career!
