More progress on my #minesweeper clone (no idea how it will be named). This time I implemented zooming. This should help with bigger maps and hopefully also improves the usability on smaller devices (tablets, mobiles). Although I think its still best played on Desktop PCs.
More updates in the coming days.

#vibejam iteration 3: space mountains
tip: you can draw player into your worlds by populating them with details that matter. cover is great example.
background graphics are nice, but gameplay satisfaction explodes when the world harmonizes with player mechanics.
i started this iteration by giving claude a screenshot and asking how we could make it look and feel more like an asteroid. here's what we built:
• non-spherical shape. triaxial squash + low-freq lumps = potato silhouette, not a ball
• enhanced craters using power-law distribution (many tiny, few massive)
• boulder field created with multi-LOD instanced mesh system. 3 detail tiers with per-vertex deformation so rocks are lumpy, not round
• spatial placement for crater-floor bias so boulders cluster in disturbed terrain
• dynamic destruction
• vehicle physics so debris bounces off ship/rover with collision shake
• gravity & tumbling (this is the best part) debris falls back, re-roots on landing. Rocks rotate as they drift

@terencebuilds Great question. I hope/think that the Overall difficulty Level relies on the Standard factors, which are amount of mines/size of field.
I might add "time" AS an additional Factor, e.g. clear the field in a given time.
Will see how it turns out
English

@bennyschuetz How you're thinking about balancing difficulty progression across the different modes?
English

The core functionality (DAY 01/02) of this month' project is done. Minesweeper-kind-of-game.
In total I have three different game modes in mind:
- CLEAR_ALL (Standard Minesweeper Logic)
- PATH (Find you way from the bottom to the top)
- SEARCH (Find a special item in the field)

New month - new project.
After releasing a frontend framework (infrontjs.com) in January, an API based SaaS (tmplvision.io) in February and a single-page tool-like SaaS (ai-visibility-checker.io) in March - I think now it is time for some fun.
In April I plan to release a webgame - with well known game mechanics (Minesweeper Clone).
Will see how this turns out. More on this in the upcoming posts.
Any advice on whats the best monitization ads network for this kind of "product"?
English

My recently released project called tmplvision.io is now on PeerPush: peerpush.net/p/tmplvision - would be a great help if you help me with an upvote!

Phew, spent the last day optimizing ai-visibility-checker.io for SEO and content marketing.
Results according to Googles PageSpeed Insights (Desktop version) are pretty satifiying. Hope this pays out in the long run ;-)

@Kedbranten Thanks, yeah - I hope the timing is fine now. I try to explain which heuristic check is currently used on the page (refer #learn" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">ai-visibility-checker.io/#learn )
English

@bennyschuetz timing is perfect. once llms start citing sources more reliably this becomes even more important. curious how you're testing discoverability across different models
English

Launch day (silent beta).
AI Visibility Checker - it tells you if ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini can actually find and recommend your website.
The idea: most sites are optimized for Google, but completely invisible to AI assistants. We run 10 checks and give you a score from 0 to 100.
Payment strategy: free scan forever. No signup, no paywall on the score. If you want AI-generated fixes for every failing check (custom llms.txt, robots.txt, JSON-LD + step-by-step guide) - that's a one-time $19.99 (discounted price). No subscription.
I intentionally avoided recurring billing. You have a problem, you pay once, you get the fix. Done.
If anyone wants to test it on their site - it's live:
ai-visibility-checker.io
Let me know what you think about it?

English

@Kedbranten Thanks. Yes, I hear people starting to discuss this, since more and more ppl are using AIs instead of Google
English

@bennyschuetz smart angle. AI as discovery layer is massively underrated right now
English

@alexabelonix Just saw this movie (Life of Chuck) yesterday - such a great movie!
