I still can't believe what I have been able to build using Replit Agent. 6 months ago this would have been impossible. First off, a little background: At the end of 2024, I acquired Don Norman Associates (DNA). At DNA we have the largest collection of motor carrier authority letters in the world. Some stretch as far back as the 1930s. The system that currently hosts those files was written in ColdFusion back in the early 2000s. The retrieval is fast, but cumbersome. We are working on a new system that allows for self-service retrieval and has broader metadata from each mc letter. Well, while we're building a more "production-ready" system, I decided to vibe code a new web app with a subset of the documents we have. I started off small and just kept iterating and iterating. Now I have a fully functioning web store that has indexed and archived 1.1MM motor carrier letters issued by FMCSA. Basically every MC letter issued from 2011-now. Documents are indexed with company name, city, state, DOT Number, MC Number, type of authority granted, etc, and instantly searchable. So far beyond a prototype. It's making money and making our service delivery quicker and fully featured. Abandoned carts, discount codes, search analytics, cron jobs, etc. Now we just need to work on driving more traffic to the site. I cannot wait to see what gifts Replit delivers in the next year!

PSA: if you have the claude desktop app open on multiple computers it can take actions on the wrong machine! last night, on my macbook, i asked claude cowork to do something for me (open a browser and navigate to a login page). it showed me a screenshot of the login page and said it'd opened it, but I couldn't find the browser tab on my macbook, so I abandoned the session. this morning I came into the office and noticed on my mac mini that the login page was open. turns out the claude desktop app was also running there and I guess claude has no instructions to run tasks on that machine. any help @bcherny ?

if it passed, this would have the most impact: Requiring “foreign dispatch services” to register as brokers. Foreign dispatch services are defined in the bill as those not located in the U.S., Mexico or Canada, that act as a direct licensed agent on behalf of one or more motor carriers. everything else is window-dressing.

I can see why coding can get addicting. Baby steps is what I am learning at the moment with Claude

Truck vision v2 is out now on SC for all users. I'll have some comparisons soon and show the improvements. During development, the goal was that if I can read an image myself, the system should too. And that goal was achieved. In testing there were multiple images I was not able to read myself but the system was. Truck vision v2 also includes huge metadata improvements i.e. was it a paper tag? Does it seem they have taped on signs in the past? These will will be surfaced on company profiles soon for vetting checks.

@benvanzee Not sure if it still has the same meaning but i would consider coding with claude as pair programming

Getting 20+ agents to work together in parallel is a) hard b) undeniably the way forward c) how you actually vibe code without writing slop

@benvanzee Barf bag I’m tracking with. The fencing pliers I’m tracking less. Someone needs to let him know you need 2 sets to effectively use those things.
