INEC wants to invalidate everyone’s voter registration and make people go through a revalidation process before they can vote again. The time they’re giving for this is way too short, and most people don’t even know it’s happening. If this is allowed, a lot of people will end up disenfranchised in the next election.

I jumped on a flight to Enugu to see my parents. I wish I could do this more often. I can't explain the joy on their faces since morning. My dad, who is gradually getting old, hasn't left my side since I arrived. For some of us, we will be lucky if our parents are still here for another decade. We should make it count.

This is 2026 and a state governor is still performing theatrics as if he is a military governor in 1976. When do you have time for visioning and policy making? These are symptoms of structural faults, the state has in all probability, too many workers doing too little, and they are all poorly paid. They are on the streets hustling while their counterparts in government are on airport tarmacs waving goodbye to and/or welcoming a clueless president when they are not looting the state dry. Fix the structural problems producing these expensive symptoms, put accountability measures in place and you will not have to be making unscheduled visits to empty offices. Don't you have work to do in Government House? Why are we like this? We are not okay!

Enugu State Governor is arguably a step ahead of Alex Otti. You can rightly argue that Mbah did not inherit a state as severely dilapidated as what Alex Otti met in Abia state, it is undeniable that Otti has delivered a dramatic turnaround, positioning Abia with an unprecedented capacity to compete among Nigeria’s leading states. ALEX OTTI is actually the only governor in the history of Nigeria’s South-East to inherit a state in such profound decline and deliver a remarkable turnaround within just three years. Enugu, however, already possessed a foundational advantage. What distinguishes Mbah is his aggressive and strategic deployment of that leverage while at the same time expanding the Enugu's growth trajectory.
Dr. Ose Etiobhio@osemagnum

is there any governor in Nigeria doing up to half of what Alex Otti is doing?

Rev Fr. Stephen Njoku: A true model of Catholic Prayer Centre spiritual director. Anyone who wants to know how charismatic priests or the so called spiritually gifted brothers and sisters are meant to operate in the Catholic Church should remember the life of Rev. Fr. Stephen Njoku. He is a good example to the spiritually gifted Catholics (Both priests/Religious and lay faithful) in Nigeria. Here are the very last words of Rev. Fr Stephen Njoku to those gathered at the Upper Room Prayer Ministry shortly before his death : "God alone is our refuge and our security, make Him your refuge and feel okay here, as we your teachers are leaving your scene and leaving this world, never forget this." The Late Fr. Stephen Njoku died on the 29th of December 2012 after a brief illness. He was a powerful but obedient priest of the Catholic diocese of Enugu Diocese though originated from the Catholic Diocese of Ahiara. He was the founder of famous as of then and still operating currently without him, “Upper Room Prayer Ministry, Enugu Nigeria “. Although, he is dead his Upper Room Ministry still lives on and remains a centre for spiritual retreat, catechesis, deliverance, exorcism, spiritual counseling, and adoration to the Holy Eucharist. Fr. Stephen Njoku was in deed a true Catholic and obedient son of the Church. I had the privilege to serve at the Holy mass he celebrated as an Altar boy when he came to my resident Parish, Our Lady of the Rosary parish, Emene, Enugu. I so much admired how he followed the rubrics of the Holy Eucharist without any form of alteration or improvisation. He is dead but his good legacy lives on. May his life challenge those of us who claim we have spiritual gifts and claim we are higher and wiser or even more spiritual than the church. Including those who masquerade piety on social media and celebrate massive digital hypocrisy. The questions we should ask ourselves are: When I die will my so called ministry remain flourishing within the church or as a private business enterprise? What good legacy will I leave behind? Even more seriously is the question, Will I even make heaven with my pride, arrogance and disobedience to constituted Catholic authority? His life remains an inspiration for those who have special spiritual gifts and who run prayer centers. He lived and died in obedience and respect to his Bishop and to the Church: The prayer center he founded is still active and many souls are still delivered and nourished daily without his presence since he placed Jesus in the Holy Eucharist at the center of the prayer center and not an empty decorated altar with a bottle of Goya oil and photos and portraits of himself littering everywhere while all the music and songs are turned to the self and vainglorious exhibition. Kyrie Eleison! He never did the latter! There was nothing like “Daddying” or “mummying” anyone who claims to be a founder of a prayer center then. Now, the crucial but important questions are : If the Spiritual director or Daddy of the prayer center you attend currently died, will you continue to go there? Will the prayer centre continue to exist if he died? May the soul of Rev Fr. Stephen Njoku and the souls of the departed, through the mercy of God rest in Peace. Amen 🙏🏽 Kyrie Eleison! ©️ Fra Fra Francis Ezeh OFMCap #CatholicTwitter

You agbados are so ignorant yet, arrogant. First, the USA and China being the largest economies in the world makes more money from agriculture than oil. Secondly, saying oil production is daily and agriculture not shows how naive your reasoning are because, agriculture produce after harvest last round the year and so on. Thirdly, what is the ration of people using oil products compare to agriculture? No human can do without agricultural products but millions of people in the world today have no business with crude oil products. Uma shame dey shame us, God forbid Tinubu ever happen to Nigeria again.

As Igbo people what did we benefit from ex Commonwealth Sec Gen Emeka Anyaoku? It is about time we questioned some of these our Igbo elites who had great opportunity to move us forward as a group but did nothing! Another example is Paschal Dozie that could not site MTN training or data centre in Igbo land. I don’t even want to say anything about the owner of Air Peace! Allen Onyema!

This is class… Last week, I waited for the excitement, and giddiness, of President Tinubu’s visit to England to die down before writing my own observations. President Tinubu was well received, with pomp and pageantry. In terms of flamboyance and entertainment, it was beautiful. But in matters of substance, it failed spectacularly. I was embarrassed, and scandalized, when some Tinubu acolytes came on air to jubilate, and even conspired to insult former President Olusegun Obasanjo, by saying he’ll be very jealous of the reception accorded President Tinubu at Windsor Castle, by King Charles III. Such chicanery. In 2003, during Obasanjo’s reign, 23 years ago, December 3-6, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the mother of today’s King, traveled to Abuja, Nigeria, Nigeria with The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Philip, to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. In fact, The Duke was dispatched to Lagos to attend some events. This was the height, if not the peak, of Nigeria’s glory, on the world stage… Under OBASANJO, Nigeria’s external debts were written off. But today, the debts have more than quadrupled. My humble appeal is that we should get our priorities right. It smacks of inferiority complex for nearly all our cabinet and Governors to empty themselves to England for nothing more than a banquet and carriage rides, while hundreds of fellow citizens were being exterminated at home… It shall be well with us…
