@blakeandersonw @AdvaitRaykar no sensible person/company is getting vendor-locked yet. anything can change with the right model/price offering

@AdvaitRaykar Agree. Though diffusion is slower (and therefore marketing more important) when there is less product delta. Which is why I believe OpenAI needs to move quickly

can confirm beyond the bubble it's pretty much total claude code domination -- although it's about the rate of diffusion the claude code domination is a recent phenomena, before it was total cursor domination (till early this year/late last year) source: i ask this question to everyone i interview
Blake Anderson@blakeandersonw

OpenAI’s mimetic timeline coordination around Codex has been impressive. But Claude has much more momentum amongst tier 2-3 knowledge workers. OpenAI needs a stronger mass-market (Instagram, TikTok) campaign if they want to dethrone Anthropic.

Good job, Google Maps Team 👏

@onlinedopamine @TheAnkurTyagi and I know a couple devs who went back to India from Germany in the last 2 years. Because they'd get larger salaries with lower CoL. Averages may be correct but most of these devs who can get a job in Germany may as well earn the same back home. And it's not just India

i guess we can all just make up stats at this point. eu is a diverse set of countries and i'm fairly certain the average indian dev doesn't make nearly as much as the average dev in germany, sweden, denmark, norway, switzerland, austria and probably a bunch of other countries i ommitted in my old freelance job (public german company) i literally had 2 indian devs who came to germany because of the salaries being substanially higher

A senior engineer in EU earns less than a junior engineer in the US and If you're in tech & working from EU be it like a dev/gtm or any other role you’ve 4 choices: - Accept low salary & keep doing nothing - Move to US (hard choice and not everyone can afford it but if you can you should give it a shot, SF is crazy seen these days) - Try to find a well paid remote job from a US company (hard but not impossible many people in my network doing it and working for SF startups and earning over $200k easily) - Create your own company/agency and work with US clients and earn over $500k - $1M per year ( yes possible if you’re demand and know your market and can operate like an entrepreneur) but yes I was always shocked by the discrepancy between US and EU salaries because these days even India have higher salaries than EU!

got an email from a user today they asked for a “rephrase flashcards” feature and honestly… it makes sense after a few reviews, you start memorizing the wording not the concept now: should I keep previous versions or replace them? building this this week, will share results :)

The raw reality of building from 0. No fake ss, no exaggeration. It's been exactly 1 week since I bought the domain and started working on podtyper.com. And in this 1 week, podtyper got to 15 signed up users and 3 paying customers. now it's time to solve distribution

@berkeatac Yes. Did you read the part where I said "no matter what theme". Or notice the actual color contrast which is the issue? Or the comment by the developer who is aware?
