What went wrong here? A quick thread on the most likely causes of the disastrous breakages from yesterday's Space. (Background: I was a Site Reliability Engineer in Big Tech for many years, and I've seen a lot of big products break in bizarre ways)

Do Amazon have some kind of banjo vendetta that I don’t know about?

I’ve confirmed with a couple of different devices now and compared to my mp3 of my CD and other streaming services. It’s really interesting to hear the other guitar parts more clearly, but the song sounds so much better with all of the instruments.

Just noticed the strangest thing… Amazon music’s copy of the Fleetwood Mac song “Say You Love Me” is missing the banjo part… how does that happen? I was listening in the car, and it sounded wrong somehow, but I thought it was maybe my car stereo… nope.

@CircleCI @github Hey thanks for the reply - I had 3 repos with this problem yesterday but haven’t had any more reports of issues today so it’s possible that it was just folks delving into repos that haven’t been touched for a while… if we see more I’ll open a support ticket.

@bernardjgardner @github Hi Bernard — we checked into this internally and couldn’t find any other reported incidents like what you’re describing, at least from a Support perspective. If you want to DM us more info we can continue investigating, if you’d like.

Is anyone else noticing that the names of the checks reported to @github by @CircleCI have all changed subtly so your branch protection rules are all blocking deploys?

since it's review season... have you experienced performance reviews that were sincere? ( or if they were not... did they lead to structural improvements that might reasonably be attributed to the review process ?) What leads to better performance (not performative) reviews?
