When I designed the Behaviour Hubs program I deliberately insisted that the advisory team strongly represented the special school sector, with over half of the team from it: Marie Gentles, John d’Abbro, Charlie Taylor. This was because without that expertise, we would miss an enormous seam of talent.

I know I've banged on about it before, but @lostdogdance are the most extraordinary company. It's not just dance, & not punctuations of dance like songs are used in a musical; it's like an extention of their words & bodies & sounds & physical CGI & it's funny & heartbreaking.

We had a lovely day yesterday seeing some art, some artefacts, a brother and his lions, and then the most beautiful theatre (@lostdogdance, you didn't let me down). My feet are sore and my eyes are sleepy, but it was good 🥰

As a humanities subject it might well decline. Though a revival of the humanities is possible the narrow curriculum at 16-18 makes it difficult. CP Snow would see the world very differently today. We need to bridge the two cultures by replacing A levels with a broader offer.

Eng Lit is an odd subject, not sure where it fits. If it were an arts subject it would involve writing your own literature as well as reading others. Maybe linking it to creative writing might be a way forward…?

I see a lot of things like this when reading around alternatives to 'academic' assessment pathways for pupils with SEND. It looks structured and formalised but falls apart when you look at how to measure, or even agree on meaning. There's a serious risk of lowering expectations.
