After the debacle of the 3G closure and poorer telecommunications outcomes for regional/rural communities @Telstra have decided to lift their pricing plan fees around 7% - CPI is currently under 3%. How can you increase prices when your service offering has diminished??

@SawyerMerritt @Starlink Think you might have this round the wrong way - nbn full fibre is 4 times faster than Starlink, more affordable, more reliable and lower latency. Starlink is also foreign owned and a best effort service with some areas of Australia already at capacity.

NEWS: $3.8 billion will be spent to upgrade 622,000 homes in Australia with national broadband network Internet, costing ~$6,100 per house. The retail cost of a @Starlink router is $549, with a monthly service fee similar to an NBN plan, but Starlink internet is up to 4x faster.

@Avery_Farming @georgie_troup Starlink DTH will need Aus. carriers spectrum . Consumers will need a compatible device & a mobile plan that offers DTH with an Aus. mobile carrier. It will be SMS only initially & only where there is line of sight to the sky. Not designed to replace terrestrial mobile coverage

@M1ssAnthr0pe @mattjcan @elonmusk Nbn is available to all Australian residences and recent upgrades have made plans very affordable. Starlink is not without its own set of problems - rain fade, microdrops and sovereignty concerns

@mattjcan @elonmusk It's a very long way from solved. The problem has been alleviated for those who can afford it. It is interesting, however, that after a decade in power, your government was completely unable to solve it.

One thing that @elonmusk doesn't get enough credit for is StarLink. When I first got elected rural internet was the biggest issue raised. The Aus govt spent billions trying to fix it. Now thanks to StarLink the issue is solved. Almost never comes up. Thanks Elon!

@namexnotblank @mattjcan @elonmusk Which provider are you with ? Have you tried contacting them to see if you have any equipment issues ? Nbn fixed wireless has recently had upgrades which will improve speeds and capacity of the network. Send a DM if you need assistance.

@mattjcan @elonmusk I live in a rural area. We barely get 4g. NBN is fixed wireless for us but doesn't work properly for the same reason we barely get 4G. Some of my family members have Starlink and couldn't fulfil their employment duties without it. I wish I was in a position to have it.

@RyanJam99946605 @mattjcan @elonmusk What would rural and remote people have done for internet whilst waiting for Elon to launch Starlink if there was no nbn access ?

@mattjcan @elonmusk That's a huge point... Never discussed. NBN cost how many 10s of billions Everyone in regional Australia could be connected for about $1B. What a waste NBN has been yet for some reason LNP aven't put the screws into labour too much

@QBCCIntegrity @hsanbeaumont @mattjcan @elonmusk Nbn aren’t reselling Starlink think you might be confused with Telstra’s latest product announcement ? Nbn satellite is not oversubscribed either, nbn have just released a range of enhancements including unlimited data plans and faster speeds

@hsanbeaumont @mattjcan @elonmusk They’re over-subscribed and failing throughput tests. Starlink is a far superior service. Buy it direct. There’s zero reason to go through NBN.

Telstra's 3G network is set to close on 30 June this year. It is crucial you check that all devices you use are 4G and/or 5G compatible in advance of this date. Telstra customers can SMS '3' to 3498 to confirm their device will have full functionality after the 3G shutdown.

We’re excited to share a major milestone in our commitment to enhancing the nbn® fixed-line network for homes and businesses across Australia. More than one million premises in both NSW and VIC – including across many regional areas – are now eligible to upgrade to full fibre via nbn Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)*. The upgrades come as Aussies are using more data than ever. Full fibre can unlock a range of connectivity benefits, from smoother video calls when working from home to the ability to have more devices (such as smart TVs, smart vacuums and home security systems) connected at the same time. Check if you’re able to to upgrade your connection by visiting our website: nbnco.com.au/residential/up… #FibreUpgrade #FTTP
