After reports that the Trump Admin plans to erect new fencing to allow them to close Penn Ave in front of the White House to pedestrians, I announced I’ll introduce a bill to prohibit new fencing near the White House. More fencing would send the wrong message by continuing to transform our democracy from one that is accessible to one that’s exclusive and fearful of its own citizens.
Penn Station in the busiest rail station in the Western Hemisphere, serving Amtrak, NJ Transit, and the LIRR across 21 tracks. With the redevelopment on Penn Station underway, the idea of through-running is receiving increased attention, which would allow commuter trains to travel through Penn Station, instead of terminating there.
