The Purple Line seems to have these little railroad crossing signs to warn people in the stations. Does any other light rail have these for pedestrians/riders?

New CaBi bike share station in Silver Spring at Georgia and Spring St (near Mom’s). Nice with the Spring st bike lane right there (tho biking on Georgia is jot really a thing).

Q1 2026 transit data is in today, & all major US rail networks are growing! SF is seeing a real boom, with ridership up 19% on Muni and 15% on BART SEPTA (Philly, 11%) and PATH (NY/NJ, +6.8%) are also seeing strong growth, while MTS (San Diego, +0.5%) is the slowest🧵

NEWS: A federal judge has saved the 15th Street protected bike lane (for now), saying the decision to remove the lane running from Constitution Avenue to the Tidal Basin was "arbitrary and capricious and not the result of reasoned decision-making." It was to be removed this week.

BREAKING: The Senate just passed the legislation allowing the devastation of the Boundary Waters. The motion passed 50-49, and now goes to Donald Trump’s desk. The way Republicans passed this bill that prevents future administrations from issuing protections for Superior National Forest, so this pristine land will be exploited in perpetuity unless Congress intervenes to reverse this decision. The state of Minnesota can still block the Chilean mining corporation from operating in Superior National Forest and protect the Boundary Waters from pollution.
