@Wisdom_HQ I’ve worked on a Bond movie and it’s not just the ticket price of the placement. They’re also obliged to spend a sum (usually $100m+ in 1997 anyway!) on advertising their product and the movie. Good for product, great for Bond. As a global media spend it’s not that much.

“Bought their way out?” The club were under a transfer embargo and could only offer wages of around £7k a week in 2021/22. In the season they actually got promoted, they spent a combined £400k on Akin Famewo, Tyreeq Bakinson and Malik Wilks. Every other incoming was either a free transfer or a loan. Chansiri spent next to nothing on wages and transfers after 2017. It was clear he had started to run out of money by that point. By 2018, he began defaulting on wage payments, which led to a prolonged period of multiple transfer embargoes coming and going right up until he eventually lost the club.
