@WestsideLAGuy I'd amend that slightly to say, don't live there past 35 if you aren't there or clearly on your way to getting there.

If you're a man, don't live in NYC unless you're making at least $500K/year or in a clear trajectory to hit it. Otherwise, your experience will be a series of humiliation rituals with low ROI.

@AverageFan_Z Yes I would do it. There's nothing magic about number three this year. We need assets and 4 picks in the top 35 including the 6th is a good enough return to take it

@zerohedge Bold take from a man whose company once delivered a box of air and charged prime shipping. Amazon's good NOW but NYC schools didn't get $150B in VC funding to iterate.

Client Scenario: Married couple. Both 38. Household income $620,000. $1.4M in 401ks and IRAs. $280k in a taxable brokerage. $180k left on the mortgage at 2.9%. Two kids — 6 and 8. They keep telling us they feel behind compared to their peers. What are your thoughts?

@BcarmB @mortimer_1 My assumption was from 2014 or so you are down in anything at the 4-5mm level or above but from 2012 at 3mm I might have assumed some appreciation

Metro Vancouver Housing Collapse
@bfgcpw @mortimer_1 Not at all; a massive housing bust is now well underway. That was an inflated selling price in 2012, too. It just seems "cheaper" compared to the cheap money-fuelled run up since then. Expect much more downside to come.

Think about this. Petey had 2 bad years. And still has the most points out the 2017 draft class. Not bad to someone who sucks right? And that draft class has some studs. There is a huge opportunity for Petey to crush it this summer and come back better than ever. Gonna be awesome for everyone if he does that #Canucks

My first thought of a Penn starting lineup: PG - Levine G - Mohammed (Notre Dame) G - Glogovac (Cal Tech) F - Power C - Gerhart Lucas Lueth (3/4), Jay Jones (2) and Dalton Scantlebury (5) in the mix too.

@DanRussellST I noticed that too, Dan. "we had bad years too" is truly a false flag. The diff is Sedins, once they had 5-6 years in the league to figure it out had NO bad years. EP has collapsed. Sedins maintained consistent all-star level play for a decade.

For example, were you satisfied with their answer on EP 40? I believe EP’s heard the same thing for 2-3 yrs. Comparing it directly to themselves doesn’t feel like a comparable. EP40 already put up big numbers. The twins hadn’t done so yet. Twins slow growth vs EP sputtering.
Tim@sregort

@DanRussellST Interesting, I thought they hit on everything I wanted to hear, in detail too. Actions is ultimately what matters, but after today I am a lot more optimistic than I have been in the last 10 years… One things for sure, they will be exceptionally well prepared, and work v hard

My first impression? Not blown away by what I heard from the (nervous) Sedin twins. Forget debate whether co-presidents is the way to go — faced with their first major decision, they chose to stay safe with RJ rather than be bold with Gold and give worst NHL team fresh voice. (1)

I spoke with one of the longest tenured Vancouver sports media members last night for a long time. I got the whole Garret story. He made a joke about Francesco on the team plane, nothing major, but a bit of a burn. It got back to Francesco and he decided to have Garret removed.

@CoachDanGo I dont think "you dont take medications" at 80 is quite the flex you make it out to be. Yes a lot of medicine can be avoided through the years via making healthy lifestyle choices, but at 80, the vast vast majority will, or should be, taking some medications for something.

You're 80 years old. You don't take medications. You can pick up your grandkids easily. You're not afraid to go up or down stairs. You're independent and loving life. This happened because you kept a healthy weight, strength trained, ate whole foods, and prioritized sleep. Getting older is inevitable but being unhealthy is not.

@noahstrang_ Kings started rebuilding in 2019 and have made the playoffs consistently, Colorado rebuilt for 5 years and now look at them, panthers for 4 years, Montreal for 5. There is no reason to suggest, especially with current talent, that canucks need to spend a 7 years rebuilding

Want to know how the Ducks got so much young talent? They've drafted in the top-10 for the past seven consecutive years. Three of those picks were in the top-3. If the #Canucks want to build a similar talent pool, it's a long, long road ahead. #FlyTogether

10. Accelerate out of the rebuild when the time is right. Don’t be prospect huggers like Steve Yzerman. When the time is right and young players are coming into their own, start surrounding them with more depth and talent. Aim to be a competitive team by 2029-30.

My 10 step plan to fix the #Canucks long term (a thread) 1. Fire Jim Rutherford (or agree to mutually part ways). Despite him being a savvy operator with HoF career, his methods are outdated. Hire a data-centric leader who has worked in smart organizations (TB, WSH) as POHO.
