After a 5 month hiatus the first Housing Scrutiny committee of '23/24 is finally on Monday. Looks like we're facing a night of death by PowerPoint but I will be asking the Lead Member about the poor service homeless people are getting + lack of support for tenants of failing RSLs

Thanks to Tower Hamlets Council's Head of Public Realm Services for joining me on an inspection of Bow. Some positives but the team needs to be more proactive in identifying missed collections + quicker following them up. We also urgently need pink recycling bags in Ideas Stores!

The Prime Minister said as many as 900 schools could be affected by the RAAC crisis. For years, there have been warnings about school building safety, which the government has ignored. Tory incompetence and negligence is putting children’s lives and education at risk.

If the Government is serious about net zero it needs to provide the appropriate funds for 19 million homes in our country to be retrofitted so that they can be up to the IPCC standard and reduce household costs.

Home Sec is spending £7mn a day on accommodation for asylum seekers. Yet because of her incompetence & the appointment of poor contractors, asylum seekers were being dumped in unsuitable accommodation in my constituency last week. Completely unacceptable.
