Our Executive Council is in Brussels for its Spring Plenary, bringing together senior business executives who lead the European operations of some of our member companies. We kicked off with a meeting with @MarosSefcovic, European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security. Together, we discussed growing concerns around the escalating trade tensions, including the recent US tariffs and potential EU countermeasures. Recognising that the EU’s response so far has been measured, we encourage both sides to continue dialogue and safeguard the benefits of a strong transatlantic trade and investment relationship. We must avoid further escalation of the dispute – doing so would only jeopardise both economies and put at risk the $9.5 trillion transatlantic economy and the 16 million jobs it supports.
