In Karnataka having a strong affinity for Kannada language is a must. It's absolutely non-negotiable. That is not an anti-immigrant issue. How can BJP supporters act this stupid. ?
Just got off a call with a friend who got laid off from Oracle yesterday.
His package was 48 LPA. Principal Software Engineer. 14 years at Oracle.
He shifted his aging parents to live with him in Bangalore last year. Took a bigger house on rent. 85k per month.
Two weeks ago, his VP gave him a spot bonus for exceptional leadership.
Yesterday morning. No call. No warning. Just an automated HR email.
He has two kids. One in college. One preparing for JEE next year.
He didn't cry. He just sat silent for 5 minutes. Then said What do I tell my father?
14 years of loyalty. 48 LPA to zero in one email.
And they still put People First in their job postings.
Hypocrites.
A friend at Oracle got impacted in the layoffs.
Was on a call with him for about 30 minutes. Thankfully, he has ~18 months of safety net and kids education taken care of for 3 years, something we’ve discussed way too often.
He’s really good at his work. But one thing he said stayed with me:
“I’d rather earn ₹12L and take the rest as benefits… I just don’t want to pay tax.”
@Amara_Bengaluru Aey chomu , if they would have paid 2 L incometax , calculate their earnings. I am sure they would have saved enough to survive until they find a new job
Around 12000 Indians apparently lost job in the recent Oracle layoff. If the average tenure is 10 years of experience and if each one has paid an annual income tax of 2 lakhs over the 10 years tenure, these guys have paid 2400 crore rupees in Income Tax alone.
Add the VAT, Stamp Duties, Road Tax, GST, Excise Tax and other indirect taxes they would have paid. Assume it to be a ballpark 2000 crores more. 12000 employees of Oracle alone would have paid around 4400 crores in various taxes to both Union Government and state governments over the last 10 years.
They have now lost jobs and what is the social security they have today? Is the Government going to help them? Did PM speak about this unfortunate incident? Did FM speak about it? Did Finance Ministry speak about this? Did Labour minister speak about it? Did any state CMs speak about it? Did any state minister speak about it?
This is just an example. Many other companies have fired people over years. Tax payment in India is a one way street. You load the government coffers with truckloads of money, and you dont get a dime when you are in distress.
It’s high time Government implements strict guidelines to private companies, they must pay Severance from 3 months to 1 year based on employee’s tenure.
Such laws already exist in Europe, they need to do it here too otherwise stop deducting income tax.
These 30000 Oracle guys who would be jobless now were paying taxes to Government of India.
Government won’t even ask if their kids have their school fees paid from tomorrow.
This is great Indian scam.
Your parents are right when they ask you to be a government leech. Be one.
This guy Shubham Gill scored 39 off 27 on a flat IPL pitch, and yet he thinks he deserves a place in the T20 World Cup ahead of Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan. 🤡🤡
His fans, mostly lockdown kids, treat him like a god, as if there’s no better player exists. I can accept a 0 off 2, but how do you justify such a slow, test-like knock in T20 cricket?
This all format test player just keeps knocking it around during the powerplay and ends up stat-padding.
I Don’t understand why people hate TCS
TCS is 10x better than FAANG
- Stable job
- Great culture
- No work (on bench)
- Low salary so no tension of investment
- 3.6 lpa means 30,000.00/month
- gives you a laptop
3.6 LPA is comfortable in Tier 1 cities if you are intelligent.
The food vendor charged all passengers ₹130 for the meal on the train, but he charged me ₹150 for the same food.
I filed a complaint on Rail Madad by calling 139. Within 15 minutes, the manager came to our seat.
He returned the extra money that had been charged and said, “Please withdraw the complaint, otherwise a fine of ₹55,000 will be imposed
