Qatar should not be considered a reliable partner or ally of Canada. It is another far right government that has repeatedly been accused of supporting extremist groups in the region.

This video explains well why the Kurds have never achieved an independent state. Some Parts of the diaspora still hold onto that dream, but without strong leadership, unity, solidarity, and mutual respect, it will never become a reality. It is what it is.

The Kurdish groups scoring the highest Iranian ancestry are Yezidis from Turkey, followed by Laki-speaking Kurds from Iran and Kurds from Hakkari. The groups with the lowest Iranian ancestry are Kurmanji-speaking Kurds from Kayseri, followed by Kurmanji-speaking Kurds from Gümüşhane and Zazas from Mardin. Interestingly, Kurds from Ankara and Konya show a decent amount of Iranian ancestry, surpassing even Kurds from Diyarbakir, Van and Duhok. The average Iranian ancestry among all Kurds so far is 58%. Of course, these numbers are not set in stone, as some cities are underrepresented while others are overrepresented.

There is a reason the Kurds have “a great reputation in Congress” — because unlike many in the region, they proved their loyalty with blood, not speeches. While politicians debated strategy, Kurdish men and women were dying on the frontlines destroying ISIS and preventing its terror from spreading across the world. Thousands gave their lives fighting an enemy others were too afraid to confront directly. So hearing “take, take, take” directed at the Kurds is disgraceful. The Kurds did not “take” — they sacrificed, bled, and buried their children while serving as one of America’s most reliable allies in the region.
