@StevenIHaglund Nothing to apologize for. Slaughter might end up being amazing, but it's always disappointing when they go against consensus top guys. Especially when we just signed a C. Im an optimist and trust the process, but it's still stressful when you know you desperately need a G or 2.

It’s no secret I’ve been very frustrated by the Chargers offseason process at guard this year. Which is still justified imo, but I also shouldn’t have projected some of that onto Jake Slaughter as a player like I did last night. It was unfair to him and disrespectful of the draft evaluation process. So for that I do apologize. Will be better going forward!

@StevenIHaglund It’s that blind negativity and hate that make this fanbase so toxic. The kid allowed one QB hit all of 2025 vs the SEC and everyone was ready to write him off seconds after the pick. How about we let his play speak for itself and give him time

Couldn’t be more tired of hearing ppl continually say next years QB class is going to awesome! I heard it last year and thought, “I haven’t seen anyone who is great” & as it turns out the top 2 weren’t even being talked about & most others aren’t even slated as starters! This coming year, based off what I have watched there are TALENTED guys but don’t think any have proven to be GREAT QBs, yet… So this whole wait and get your franchise guy makes so little sense to me! If there is a guy that you think could be a good starting QB you grab them whenever & however… too many teams keep waiting for that guy and struggle to truly find them!

The whole idea that there is a consensus board being used to judge picks is stupid. Who is making up the consensus? That’s the problem with draft evaluations. Don’t be part of the herd.

@TrenchesMatter @Volture1O1 Slaughter got like 2 days of Guard play at the senior bowl which is not a real college or NFL practice and people are panicking 😂😂. It’ll take some time but damn let’s give the kid some time before we write him off completely

I get that everyone wants to be drafted #1 overall, but when you’re not it’s still cool to be pumped that you got drafted, excited to be on any team and have a chance to make your dreams come true!! But every year guys gotta act mad & tell us they are “keeping receipts”, other teams are going to regret it, etc… Never once was motivated bc someone else didn’t want me, only by chasing greatness and proving my team & myself right!

@bie75125 Buddy, we had an 11-6 record and WC exit with both of them on the field. Relying on Herbert to be Superman is not a sustainable strategy.

@Herbo4President Yeah I’m sure Alt and Slater will both have freak injuries and miss the whole season again. 11-6 with the Oline we had was amazing now imagine what Herb can do with a healthy line and an offensive guru calling plays.

@RealNoQuarter @tylerjschoon It’s not a stretch to move from center to guard. In 2024 8 of the 9 1st round offensive lineman drafted switched to a new position in the NFL. Happens all the time

@bie75125 @tylerjschoon I didn't say that about Alt, and I don't think it's the same thing. The need is there, and it's been their undoing two years in a row, and I'm not crazy about the chance they're taking. But I definitely hope you're right, truly.

@13thchargersfan @tylerjschoon All the options that fell to picks 88 plus 😂. Everyone cried when we took a LT in Alt to play RT and look how well that worked.

@bie75125 @tylerjschoon Right well that was in college… not the NFL and if he’s drafted to play G he’s fucked. How is it so hard to draft a G? There were plenty of options.
