I was just reading about the cases of invasive invasive meningococcal disease in Kent. I noticed this early symptoms list and thought it may be worth sharing...
"The onset of illness is often sudden and early diagnosis and treatment with antibiotics are vital. Early symptoms, which may not always be present, include:
- a rash that does not fade when pressed with a glass
- sudden onset of high fever
- severe and worsening headache
- stiff neck
- vomiting and diarrhoea
- joint and muscle pain
- dislike of bright lights
- very cold hands and feet
- seizures
- confusion/delirium
- extreme sleepiness/difficulty waking

@footballontnt @xGPhilosophy xGs don’t win you games though. Neither does a shitey huddle over the ball in the centre circle, woefully trying to noise up your opponent when they are actually just embarrassed for you.

@bigG_2012 The 0745, 0817 and 0847 services from Motherwell have 6 carriages but I will pass on your comments as some do have 3 carriages. ^Paul

@bigG_2012 Hi Graham, which specific route are you referring to? I am not a train planner so I suspect it's a logistical reason. ^Paul

Think I’d find this hugely self important alpha male
more masculine if he didn’t have a silly voice and wasn’t carrying a handbag.

@MartinSLewis People completely lack self-awareness and basic manners these days

Early voting, only 1,500 in, but so far the huge majority think things have got worse. Yet the sentiment is far stronger with women, where over 90% (so 9 to 1) think it has got worse, than men where its 78% (so 4 to 1).

Today's Poll: Social media is often said to be a rude tough place to be, but has that translated into worse behaviour in the real world. Do you FEEL the way people interact in person has deteriorated over the last decade or so?

@bigG_2012 🙏 Thank you for your interest. Your opinion is very important to us.

⚡️Glasgow station, which survived two world wars, has burned down due to a fire in a vape shop, — media reports. 🇬🇧🔥
The fire started in a vape shop inside the Central Station. The glass dome of the 19th-century building collapsed, the station was closed, and train services were completely halted. People were evacuated; no casualties reported. 🚨🏚️
The building survived two world wars. During World War I, its basements were used as a temporary morgue for soldiers, and in World War II, the glass roof was painted black to hide light during bombings. ⚔️🕯️

@bigG_2012 Will this information put out the fire 🔥 or just return everything to how it was? 🤔

@Lillyin_London More uninformed observations 🤦🏻♂️. And what’s ensurance?

I think these @McDonaldsUK Friends adverts *might* be the worst I have ever seen in the history of tv.
English

@MartinSLewis I think as a relic from Covid times, I have an alert for your tweets and I would say that they are duplicated all the time, albeit some are down to typos or whatsnot.
English

@kai_kaib @MartinSLewis Surely by that logic we also don’t exist then?

@MartinSLewis population of the Universe must be zero given that the volume of the universe is infinite there must be an infinite number of worlds. But not all of them are populated; therefore only a finite number are. Any finite number divided by infinity is zero

@AliciaHayes1884 @SimonCalder It’s not really. We willingly signed up for this in an act of unfathomable self harm. If this was restricted to a small bunch of non-European travellers it wouldn’t be an issue. Amazing that the same people who want tighter immigration controls, don’t want to be subject to them
English

@SimonCalder Recently went to Madeira. Fingerprints and facial both arriving and leaving. Immigration officers have now become surly. The whole system is EU bureaucracy gone mad.

EU entry-exit system.
The whole digital borders plan is due to be complete within weeks: 9 April 2026.
But confusion abounds, eg:
“I’ve registered on a previous trip. Am I fast-tracked next time?” (No)
“Can I register my biometrics in advance?” (No)

@itsscience69 @cornishsupgirl @SimonCalder This wasn’t the case in Krakow last week. No kiosks and exit process all done manually following a long queue. Shops/cafes at gates very limited so they would be losing significant revenue. We would definitely have bought more duty free were it not for the rush to join the queue.
English

@cornishsupgirl @SimonCalder Not really ..as the biometric kiosks on return are dotted about the departure hall and tgere were lots so can be done at your leisure once through security so no queing ..arrivals a different story
English

@SimonCalder It’s a shambles mostly of our own doing. We were roughly an hour each way in Krakow last week but outbound lines were queued into duty free by time of our flight. Must be a more efficient system - airports must be losing a fortune in revenue!

@EDI_Airport (& your colleagues @ukhomeoffice ). Fairly lengthy queues at passport control on arrival yesterday lunchtime. Many IOs on duty so can’t understand why everyone was being funnelled through e-gates even when IOs were sitting available & could be helping to ease queues?

@kevintex23 @ATRightMovies Was thinking the same. And he could have got away!
