@DisgracedProp I knew someone like this once, and I concocted a scheme where they thought I was going to pay their rent, come live at my place. Backed out at the last moment. They were apoplectic. Minnesota in January. They were homeless a few days later.

Best personal life advice ever for dealing with non-confrontational people who always take the path of least resistance (95% of humanity):
Simply do and say whatever you want. Call people the worst names imaginable, shout the big family secret, share offensive memes on the family GC, walk out of dinner, scream and throw things, then just act like nothing occurred. You will be shocked at how they just reset back to normal instantly right along with you, without any hesitation. It took me forever to figure this out. It was like discovering gravity.

The best way to navigate life is fundamentally to act as if everyone around you is completely stupid. Just dumb as rocks. Treat everyone around you as if they have an IQ of 90 and an extremely low conscientiousness factor.
This is the path to success.
Never ever intellectually respect the people you interact with by default. This doesn't mean you have to act disrespectfully towards them, you just shouldn't expect feats of intelligence from them.
Beyond that you simply don't really want to be competing in arenas with intelligent people.
If you find yourself having to be extremely intelligent due to the high standards and comprehension of people around you, you've at some point made a massive mistake making your life much harder. You will end up inevitably regretting this.
Don't do it.
The prizes for winning easier games tend to be just as good if not far better than those for winning harder games. Play easy games, win a lot more prizes, that often tend to be much better.
Anyways, this is why Lukas and I chose to make a podcast.

Next time you’re in a hallway, thank John Thorpe, who invented hallways
𝖓𝖎𝖓𝖊 🕯@atlanticesque
Did you know that the hallway was invented in 1597 by an Englishman? Before that houses just had rooms. No halls or corridors. Just room on room.

@notworkinghard1 @atlanticesque Scalia refuted this. The error rate is 0.027%. "False convictions" are inflated due to repeat offenders. The chance of a truly innocent person with no priors being falsely convicted is 0.027%.

@bronzeagemantis I think it was you who talked about Oppenheimer's larping Kyoto scene where they pretend they have an actual say where the bombs are dropped to feel more important than they are, Epstein's larping emails felt like that.

The right way to model the Rothschilds is of course the parsimonious way -- a banking family which did well for a while, and then succumbed to the plight of every dynasty in squandering the wealth and status to regression to the mean. Their last billionaire died 5 years ago, and left the business to the wife -- a broker he married through a very conventional soap opera office romance. There's really not much there anymore but corporate mediocrity, and fair to say a great deal of insecurity toward the new meritocratic overclass -- I don't think they'd have a lot of luck getting on a call with Jamie Dimon. From firsthand anecdotal exposure, their zoomer gen has fully completed the circle -- broadly speaking tiktok genz boss and a mini style characters. The status market is dynamic, don't blackpill young moid, the competition is thin and always thinning.
