When the supemran embargo lifted it was practically impossible to find one “mixed” review, most people like grace randolph were calling it the best Superman movie ever. Supergirl is getting somewhat lukewarm response but at worst it’s been called fine which is good

If these are the first reactions to Supergirl, I don’t even want to know what they’ll look like once more people see the film on Monday and Tuesday who weren’t “incentivized” by junket opportunities and a specialized meet and greet event.
As a lifelong DC fan and defender of the brand through its ups and downs, I’m starting to get a little concerned.
Early reactions aren’t everything, but when the initial buzz is this mixed, it’s hard not to wonder what the broader response will be once a larger group of critics and fan base weighs in.
DC will always have my heart because I adore these characters so much but for the first time in a very long time, I can’t say I’m excited about a DC movie and that deeply saddens me.

Marvel has already shifted to big names in movies. Spider-Man, Avengers, X-Men. I doubt we will see more Ant-Mans and Captain Marvels in the near future.

It’s all a matter of budgeting. If they can make Bane & Deathstroke for the same price as Clayface, sure do it. The performance of Supergirl will change things not just for DC but Marvel as well.

Also the current state of the CBM genre doesn't cater for films like Supergirl it's sad but it's the reality... they shd think twice before greenlighting films like bane & Deathstroke it's time to cater to the big guns unless you're doing a low Budget thing like clayface

Amazon MGM is no longer releasing Luca Guadagnino's ‘ARTIFICIAL’, a biopic about OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
The studio says the film will be better served at a different studio. It is important to note OpenAI inked a major partnership with Amazon recently.

DC Studios’ Supergirl is currently tracking for an opening weekend below The Flash, according to the latest box office projections.
Recent forecasts put the film in the $45 million to $55 million range domestically, which means it could debut below The Flash’s $55.1 million opening in 2023.
Earlier projections had Supergirl opening above $55 million, but estimates have gradually declined, I wonder why…

Unfortunately Supergirl is a mixed bag for me. As a fan of the comic, I was (perhaps) overly excited for the film adaptation. While Jason Momoa’s Lobo & Milly Alcock shine, some adaptation choices and a bland villain keep it from greatness. It's, simply put, just fine. #Supergirl

Pre-release tracking for SUPERGIRL has come down again, now sitting at $51M domestic for the 3-day opening, per NRG. SUPERMAN debuted to $125M last summer on much larger production and marketing budget.

I was a big fan of SUPERGIRL, a lively, vivid, and entertaining superhero film with a lot of heart. Milly Alcock shines as the titular character, establishing she is a star. This has gorgeous cinematography, great humor, and stylish action. It's not perfect, but I had fun.
