@TheWoodsmanTree @colonelhogans But what about business who start after that date, they are impacted by the rise. Also why apply it to other asset classes like stocks and crypto? That does nothing for the housing market. All this is at the end of the day is a cash grab, they can sugar coat it all they like.

You'll never pay 47% tax on nominal capital gains. Top marginal rates pay effective rate of 27.3% on 5yr hold 30.1% on 10yr hold One of the lowest rates in the world. Other countries tax the whole gain, Australia doesnt. Facts matter over your ideological game.

So our new health secretary James Murray (no relation, thankfully) appears to think the definition of a woman is up for debate. Apparently something people might simply have different “opinions” on 🙄. And while it’s entertaining watching @JuliaHB1 expose just how absurd his position is in this @TalkTV interview, it’s also deeply concerning. Because this is the person now overseeing women’s healthcare in the UK - including pregnancy and maternity care, breast-cancer screening and policies affecting what happens in hospitals, including access to single-sex spaces and services for female patients and staff. And our public officials must be able state basic biological reality clearly - particularly when public policy, healthcare and safeguarding depend on it.
