Today we hard launch Serotonin Research with our flagship report on the state of onchain credit! Months ago, we observed the that onchain credit was exploding (22x to $5.58B in a year). Every onchain credit asset was yielding higher than the benchmark (treasuries at 3.7%, defi lending at 2.9%) and the category promised to feed the $300 B in stablecoins starving for yield. And yet, no one was talking about it. We met @Solofunk (in a fun way x.com/Solofunk/statu…) who immediately saw the potential and got to work. I think you'll agree the result is incredible. Research is something new that we are offering at @serotonin_hq. If you have a topic in mind that you feel is important but under-explored, please get in touch. I spent years working in strategic planning at one of South Korea's largest companies, and most recently, I was working on AI workflow automation. However, the closed nature of the corporate culture here just didn't align with my vision for the future. Been waiting to share this story. How I got a job playing at Serotonin's 007 poker in Buenos Aires: I didn't know much about Sero during @EFDevcon, other than its focus on marketing services and a quick chat with @bigredmachine at a paintballing event earlier in the week. It was Friday, and Devconnect was coming to a close. @serotonin_hq and @FlowTraders were hosting a 007-themed poker tournament. Winner gets a Rolex. I'm no pro, I just love strategy games. Poker is no exception. My spot at the tournament was unlikely. I was waitlisted all week. @0xkatienarain told me I can come queue early to try to get a walk-in spot. No promises. Turns out, I was at an @initia event right before and as I was leaving for my Uber, dude I was talking to said he has a spot but isn't going. He gave it to me. First stroke of luck! I was one of the first to arrive at the venue. Unexpected nerves started coming on. It felt like arriving at a stadium to play in a football game back in high school. Chatted with some folks inside, gin and tonic in hand. Some friendly faces from the week like @chilla_ct, some new. Scarfed down an Argentinian steak before an announcement that the tournament is starting. I pull out my seat and join one of the hall's 12 tables. Here we go. Very first hand, two guys go all in and one is knocked. WTF. I couldn't believe they did that. I fold my first few hands. Then get A-8. I thought they were both spades, and another three spades came on the flop. I bet big, putting someone all in. Another calls and makes me go all in. I show my cards, and my 8 was a heart! My heart dropped, no pun intended. How could I make such a big mistake? I thought it was over, but my stroke of luck continued. The river card was the 5th spade I needed! Holy shit. I'm up from my initial 15k in chips to 23k. I won another hand and was up to 40k one hour into the tournament. Then another, up to 67k. I couldn't believe it, I'm actually doing well. At this point, things were getting real. An hour and a half in, I'm shifted to another table as we consolidate. I stand up and look around to see who is left. Two tables, about 15 players. I'm just trying to survive. I had 50k and at this point, knew I had to go all in. Drama is coming... I do it with a great hand, Q-K suited. I raise pre-flop. The flop is 2-Q-3. I raise again. They call. Turn is 2-Q-3-4. I raise again. One folds, and the dealer closes everything up and quickly starts moving chips to me. BUT he forgot about another player in the game that hadn't folded. All hell breaks loose. That player is complaining we need to reset and redo. I stand up and call BS. The dealer is trying to find the burnt cards, the cards on the table, and in our hands. After much debate, the dealer deals the final card and gives me the dub. I had everything. He had nothing, just a 9-7 high card. Ball don't lie. Back in the game baby!! At this point, they call the final table of 8. I have 124k. Not bad, 8% of the total, but not great. Others have more. It was hard to count from across the table, but one seemed to have over 300k. The Rolex is placed on the table. I'm the closest to it. Feels good, man. We have a 10-minute intermission. @TelamonArdavani and @Jscottozz are trying to talk to me. We chat for a bit, but all I want to do is be in quiet and think. I go to the bathroom to escape the chaos for a few minutes. I return to the final table. We're about to begin. There are over 100 people watching. My heart is pounding. I feel like I’m in a James Bond movie. Cameras on. High stakes. Wow. I bleed a couple of blinds and am down to 80k. At least now I can chill for a good hand. Nothing is coming, and my folds were good decisions. Eventually, I get a suited Q-8. I debated as everyone watched, but couldn’t get myself to go all in. The flop was a Q high and two numbers, ugh. I would’ve won that hand and a big pot if I had gone all-in. The what-ifs of life. Soon after, I'm big blind again and am forced to go all-in with an 8-4. I have nothing until the river, which ends up being an 8!! I split pot and am back in it. Right after, I get a K-Q suited and am all in again. Another player with a small stack goes all in. I win and knock him out. Back up to 150k. At this point there are 6 players left. The big blind returns, and I have to go all in again. Someone calls. We both have two face cards. I’m winning with high cards until the river, when a J comes out, making his pair and knocking me out. That sucked, but the odds were never in my favor to make it this far anyway, I tell myself. So close! Such a unique experience, and one I'll remember forever. As I exit the table, the hosts congratulate me on my run. I decide to hang inside the table's inner ring. Turns out @amandacassatt is next to me. To be honest, I didn't know she was the founder of Serotonin. Eventually, I realize I'm actively exploring research/marketing roles, and I'm speaking with the CEO of a crypto marketing agency, at their event where I just performed highly. Now is not a bad time to shoot my shot, huh? I tell Amanda I'm exploring my next move. We get connected and continue enjoying the night. From there, several rounds of interviews followed. Neither side knew what exactly we were interviewing for, until we did. Two months after 007, I accepted an offer to head up Serotonin's research function. Just another lesson to get out into the world. Increase your surface area for luck, and always shoot your shots. Since I made that final table, Amanda told me I have a spot at all future Serotonin poker series events. So, I'll see you all at the Miami Vice Edition! So hyped. This time, I just hope @ajbanon will let me accompany him to go shopping for the Rolex before the event 😉

I just feel it. Something cypherpunk is going to come out of this era in crypto. That the money shifted to a different part of this space will be what causes this to happen.
