shoot me but I don’t think 55+ communities should exist. 55+ buildings, fine. nursing/retirement homes, sure. but boomers have cordoned off entire gated villages on some of the best real estate in the world where they just trade houses with each other at insane discounts. I’ve seen 2 bed-2 bath waterfront homes for under $100,000. 2% financing. $5000 down payments. And you’re not allowed to have any of it because you’re not old. Boomers created these spaces to escape the consequences of the world they helped create. We are left to fight for their hyperinflated scraps on the outside while they live in curated microcosms of the 1980s. I’m not saying these communities HOA’s can’t be extremely selective about who they let in, but I don’t think a young professional with good references should be shut out simply because of their age. Seize the 55+ neighborhoods.

This is a huge misconception - when people ask them to go back to the old world they mean like... Make Silvermoon with new quests. They don't mean do some bullshit elven unity or invent the Haranir and rewrite all of the lore. What people wanted was just a HD Silvermoon.

I'm just going to say that, based on my own perspective, the Night Elves descend from the Dark Trolls, an evolution caused by the well of eternity magic, and I'll act and play as if the Harranir don't exist.

Instant reaction time: If every piece of new lore you present immediately comes with a “oh well it’s just a PoV who actually knows!” caveat, none of it matters. It just feels like hiding behind the excuse rather than standing by what you’ve chosen to write.

@CartridgeBros Give me an example. Is it not valid for a community to voice their criticism on a story they’ve been invested in for 20 years? For a game they pay $15 a month to play?

Sadly I think it's time to mute the collective Warcraft lore community. These people are twisting themselves in knots to try and say the game says things is simply didn't. I hope someday they can find something they enjoy as much as the fantasy they've built in their heads.
