@Winsleydale @brianlilley Suddenly, the US thinks that Europe doesn't have free speech? Wait until someone tells them about Russia, China, Vietnam, and Saudi Arabia! They'll surely take a strong stand, right?

This is insane. Can you imagine a politician who wouldn’t be guilty of breaking these laws? CBS Interviewer : "Is posting an insult a crime?" German prosectors: "Yes" CBS Interviewer: "Is it a crime to repost a lie?" German prosecutors: "Yes"

@brianlilley It's odd. I am pretty sure I have heard many German politicians say offensive things. I guess it's one set of rules for thee and another for me.

@brianlilley A nation that created a genocide, killing more than 6 million Jews, attacked several countries in acts of war, censored and outlawed free speech and now, determines that free speech is illegal? Sounds like Nazi Germany 2.0

@brianlilley To say 'Europe is going in the wrong direction' is an understatement. 🇨🇦is now strategic ground in a battle between two great western polarities: the EU/globalist pole and the US+ civic nationalist pole. Our next election may well determine which polarity wins Canada.

@robbysoave If social media companies want to operate in Germany, they should abide by its laws. Do you think Vietnam, Cambodia and Saudi Arabia give social media free reign? Of course not. So why the focus on Europe?

I know Europe has different legal and cultural norms about speech, but I have a very hard time watching this and not being utterly repulsed. If that's how Germany wants to run itself, I suppose it's none of my business. But we should not allow them to sic the though police on American social media companies.

I can't believe Canada is booing the USA National Anthem just because the US President is trying to hurt their economy and eliminate their national identity.

Whatever sympathy MAGA right had for Canada is fast disappearing thanks to Canadians booing the American national anthem at sports events. Canadians have bought into the lie by politicians across the board that Trump wants to annex Canada, when what I believe is that he really wants Canadians to get rid of the Liberal government and have greater economic integration and cooperation with the US. Don't buy the lie that Canada can diversify. We've been trying that since the time of Pierre Trudeau and it's not worked. And even if interprovincial trade barriers are removed, the US will still remain our most important trading parter by far. It's the law of gravity. You don't want the American public to hate us like we're a foreign adversary. Again, a reminder we need America more than they need us and Canadians seem to have forgotten that basic fact. Canadian politicians should be making the case to Trump that we need to have greater economic integration as it's in both our interests. They're not doing that because they're playing politics and playing to the flag waving patriotic upsurge. That won't put food on the table when high tariffs hit, so Canadian politicians ultimately are screwing us over.

@WilliamShatner Would becoming the 51st through 60th states be more appealing? I just think our countries are so well aligned.

You know, the folklore goes that during the War of 1812 that Canadians burned down the White House (it was the British.) I wouldn’t poke the bear to make the folklore come true…but do as you want.😑

Just look at the difference in treatment. Canada/EU? Mockery, threats of annexation, tariffs, economic pressure. Russia? Besties! Makes me sick. 🤮
Commentary Donald J. Trump Posts From Truth Social@TrumpDailyPosts

I just had a lengthy and highly productive phone call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, Energy, Artificial Intelligence, the power of the Dollar, and various other subjects. We both reflected on the Great History of our Nations, and the fact that we fought so successfully together in World War II, remembering, that Russia lost tens of millions of people, and we, likewise, lost so many! We each talked about the strengths of our respective Nations, and the great benefit that we will someday have in working together. But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the War with Russia/Ukraine. President Putin even used my very strong Campaign motto of, “COMMON SENSE.” We both believe very strongly in it. We agreed to work together, very closely, including visiting each other’s Nations. We have also agreed to have our respective teams start negotiations immediately, and we will begin by calling President Zelenskyy, of Ukraine, to inform him of the conversation, something which I will be doing right now. I have asked Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Director of the CIA John Ratcliffe, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and Ambassador and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, to lead the negotiations which, I feel strongly, will be successful. Millions of people have died in a War that would not have happened if I were President, but it did happen, so it must end. No more lives should be lost! I want to thank President Putin for his time and effort with respect to this call, and for the release, yesterday, of Marc Fogel, a wonderful man that I personally greeted last night at the White House. I believe this effort will lead to a successful conclusion, hopefully soon! Donald Trump Truth Social Post 11:53 AM EST 02/12/25

When I woke up this morning, I didn’t have to remind myself to be proud of Canada. I always have been. That’s the difference between Conservatives and the Carney-Trudeau Liberals—who, after nine years of dismantling this country’s legacy, suddenly drape themselves in the flag, hoping we’ll forget. They erased Terry Fox and Vimy Ridge from our passports. Declared Canada a “post-national state” with “no core identity.” Dismissed Western civilization as “morally rotten.” Conservatives don’t wear patriotism like a costume. We live it. We honour our history, defend our culture, and protect our independence. And we will never stop putting Canada first. Canada last. Canada always.

@waitbutwhy These things aren't that impressive when you consider the time, money, materials, and energy that we have spent and continue to spend making the gigantic infrastructure that underpins them. We give for everything we're getting.

I still cannot believe that I can: - look at a world map and tap anywhere to zoom in at street level - instantly access any song, book, movie, tv show, or podcast ever made - have any conceivable question and get an immediate answer or video explanation - take a photo or video wherever I am and add it to my massive, searchable, always accessible personal archive - video call anyone in my life, at anytime, no matter where they are - watch live sports on a little wireless glass rectangle - type out these thoughts and have them read by thousands of people, all over the world, a few seconds later

The polling turn around is odd, the bounce is very expected, but it really does seem one poll cherry picked (an age group or more?) to get a narrative going and then it got some traction.
J.J. McCullough@JJ_McCullough

I find this odd. Carney is not a household name. Polls say most voters can't recognize his face. His only boosters have been elite pundits, and even then not much. I don't get why he would be popular, unless "anything but Trudeau" is truly a mighty force. nationalnewswatch.com/2025/02/11/leg…

@EricDLombardi Canada and the EU have been mocking America for decades. Canada has enjoyed some incredibly one-sided labor and trade relationships with America. Canada has been charging high tariffs on individual American products for years. Get bent.
