The list of players in today’s NEPTA graphic is one of the more interesting ones I’ve accidentally stumbled across while playing around in @Stathead: the 10 players with the most home runs across their final two seasons.
Along with Napoli, the list includes all-time greats (Ortiz and Greenberg), collusion victims (Kingman and Bonds), apex sluggers whose bodies betrayed them (McGwire and Belle), pretty good players who fizzled (Dye and Dunn), and Brandon Moss.

Project Hail Mary opened last week. Great film. But nobody is talking about the credits. They should be.
A guy with a telescope spent hundreds of hours collecting light from objects so distant that the photons hitting his sensor left their source before Rome was founded. His name is Rod Prazeres. His images ended up on 70-foot IMAX screens worldwide.
Look at what he captured. The Rosette Nebula is a cloud of gas 5,000 light-years away that has arranged itself into the shape of a human eye, ringed by fire. The Vela filaments are a stellar explosion still spreading outward through space – blue threads so fine they look like frost on glass. The dust pillar in the Pelican Nebula is manufacturing new suns right now. While you read this.
None of it was rendered. All of it is real.
Weir spent years getting the science right. The filmmakers felt the same way about the sky. When they needed something beautiful enough to close the film, they went looking for something that actually exists.
They found it. 5,000 light-years out.

Was live on the air and addressed the cameraman afterwards. This hate is remarkable. Dude is a great writer and has covered MLB for 40+ years. Great podcast too. It’s all crazy.

I'm sure Ken Rosenthal can be great with his colleagues and the connections he needs to do what he does. We've also seen him stir the pot and treat
people disdainfully. All these testimonies from his peers won't sway my opinion of the guy. 👎

Ken Rosenthal is the best teammate I’ve ever had. A fantastic reporter & terrific mentor. I owe so many stories to Ken, who is also a true ally for women. He constantly was checking in when I was pregnant/had a baby. He’s unafraid to investigate powerful men. He’s the best of us.

@MichaelJBier I listen to Ken’s podcast Fair Territory. It’s good. Thoughtful. Judging him solely on almost falling over a crouching camera man behind him during a live television feed is insane to me. Trying to avoid a Gatorade shower no less. Dude is MLB connected. And a great writer.
