We have the technology and international trade to actually feed, clothe, house every person on the planet. But we don’t. Not from scarcity, but because someone might be undeserving and might get something for free, all while a handful of billionaires compete for more yachts.

@thdxr same as with autocorrect/grammarly existence & still having bad grammar! it's literally been underlined for you in red/blue squiggly lines, just right click & fix it. (apply that to agentic era)

any lack of polish now gets equated to ai slop all fields: software bugs, bad movie, bad video game before the audience would make a judgement about your skills, which was tolerable because you can get better now they make a judgement about your character (lazy/fraud/etc)

Future books will be written monk-mode, by hand, completely offline, in digital monasteries purpose-built for focus.

Tech industry right now is honestly insane. People outside think software engineers are just sitting in AC rooms earning easy money. Reality: - Developers are working full-time jobs - Grinding LeetCode after office - Learning AI tools at night - Building side projects on weekends - Upskilling constantly because tech changes every few months - Competing with people from the entire world And even after doing all this… one bad interview can make someone question their entire career. The pressure in tech is becoming unreal. You are expected to: - Be good at DSA - Know system design - Understand AI - Build projects - Have experience - Be active on LinkedIn - Stay updated daily And somehow still maintain health, relationships and mental peace. A lot of developers are not lazy anymore. They are simply exhausted.

@Yuchenj_UW The 15 years weren't wasted. They built the mental model that tells you when the agent is wrong. People who go straight to AI-assisted coding without the foundation are fast in week one and dangerous in month six. You're not slower than them. You're safer.
