@marcvanderchijs Curious: what do you advise your children to study (in university and in spare time) these days, in this insanely rapidly changing time?

Huge cancer breakthrough! mRNA vaccine (similar to COVID vaccine tech) shows stunning results against pancreatic cancer! 75% of responsive patients STILL cancer-free at 3 yr, normally 80% recur. Could revolutionize treatment for one of deadliest cancers! Funded in part by @NIH

It’s been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). I’m reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS, indeterminate dendritic cell histiocytosis or other (non-LCH) histiocytic sarcomas cases.
I'm trying to understand non-surgical chemo and targeted therapy options, new pathology markers to better diagnose subtypes/treatments, and any data on progression in pediatric patients. Please feel free to share – I’m trying to cast a wide net due to the rarity of this condition and how little is known.
People can contact me directly at my first name (as written in my profile) at octant.bio.

@amasad Only app you need to make web apps. I haven't used any other AI coding tools lately to make my own web apps. Congrats. Well-deserved!
I am genuinely surprised that Replit is not an even bigger name. It is way more general public-friendly than other coding apps.

Ok. This finally solves coding on the go.
You have the idea, you tap out the tweet length description into Replit, you hit “improve prompt”, and then the AI agents start grinding away to make it.
Check back on desktop a while later and you have a v1 prototype.

Whatever you need… make an app for that. Now on your phone. For everyone. Free.

@marcvanderchijs Ha. I have a friend who refuses to go to any services (restaurants, haircuts, etc) if she has to call someone to make a reservation.
On the other hand, this trend seems to benefit young people who still are willing to make cold calls?
English

Kids nowadays are not used to making phone calls anymore. Everything goes through apps (and soon AI agents), but to their surprise a human-to-human phone call can get you room service as well.

A lot of people don't realise how much of a big deal this can be for some. Takes a lot of practice but it gets easier

@marcvanderchijs Hi Marc. What are hard vs easy roads in your opinion?
English

So true. The people that took the easy road in their 20s & 30s will regret that later in life.

@amasad Question/suggestion: is there a way to add SSL to my own custom domain? I got a domain from AWS Route 53 (let's say example.com), but I can't seem to set up SSL so that I can make a https:// example.com that points to my replit app domain.

Replit Agent just released a simplified left navigation. Before there were too many things in the left sidebar and it was really confusing. Here's how it looks now. Love it! 😍 Thanks for this update @Replit

@marcvanderchijs Around 2013-2014 you said only a few jobs will be safe. You definitely said “athletes” and might have mentioned “actors and musicians” too. We were talking about this exact topic in the office.
English

Another example of an expert trying to fool people into believing some jobs are safe (virtually none are in my opinion, maybe a few percent) and that it will take 20 years. No, the reality is that most new university grads won’t have jobs in 5 years already.
Tsarathustra@tsarnick
Vinod Khosla says AI will do 65% of jobs in 20 years, but an increase in GDP from 2% to 5% will lead to an era of abundance where work isn't about servitude but about what people want to do
