I went to a DevRel panel w/ @mattyp @DevRelChap, and this is the BEST panel i've been to this year. The golden takes: - Founders should do devrel themselves before hiring for it. - You can't influence the LLM layer. It's baked into training data. The agent front-end layer is where you actually have leverage: describe your tools clearly so agents can find and use them - Flooding LLMs with fake repos and slop is a strategy that works for 6 months and burns your reputation forever - Generic products get replaced by agents. Best-in-a-narrow-category survives - Open source licensing matters less than source availability now. models ingest your code either way - The only durable closed-source moat: being close to hardware. AWS is not open source because they own the machines - Github stars and discord activity are not KPIs. Every DevRel KPI should have a path to revenue - Hottest take of the night: content matters MORE in the AI era, not less. models are the new discovery layer and someone has to feed them Thank you @LindseyLi_ @BessemerVP for making it happen!! 🙏 Great venture firms don't just write checks, they compound founder knowledge.

we reacted to friend of the show @jefftangx's peptide tasting party. "it (oral BPC-157) had a peppermint taste" - @zacharyvalles "if they were available in the office i would just eat them like snacks. i would be so healed" "this is the highest risk thing i have ever heard from a liability perspective" - @mattyp
atlas@creatine_cycle

to change things up a bit i found the two most jacked dudes that i know in @mattyp and @zacharyvalles, sat them down on a bench in front of a squat rack and talked about peptide tasting and startup events in 2026. you won't find three dudes talking about technology on a podcast anywhere else 00:00 - I have picked a side 02:40 - Types of startup events in 2026: Happy Hours 04:50 - Drinking at startup events 05:19 - @paulg reaction 06:54 - @Celesteamadon reaction 10:01 - Are hackathons dead? Treehacks and @cdngdev shoutout 10:51 - YC events 13:47 - @andruyeung startup comedy show 17:00 - Peptide tasting event 20:11 - @jefftangx reaction 23:32 - @DrewVento reaction 25:01 - @haileyinsf reaction 27:13 - Everything is corporate sponsored 29:24 - @iamjasonlevin reaction 32:38 - Startup event ratios 37:06 - @useCorgi fashion show 40:36 - Another Celeste reaction 42:51 - Luma is dead 43:44 - @sonofalli reaction 44:03 - @signulll reaction

and they said devrel was dead
Lindsey Li@LindseyLi_

always fun finding an excuse to hang out with @mattyp & @DevRelChap 🤠🤠 we chatted about all things devrel in an agent-first environment turns out, the more things change, the more things stay the same. dev empathy remains the top priority for successful devrel teams and products even as agent usage accelerates, because every other metric of the business stems from building trust with your users/buyers. @DevRelChap also recommends resource split at any team size to be: 50% content (matters even more now, not less), 30% evangelism, 10% events, and 10% programs. already looking forward to the next one!! @BessemerVP

A night in San Francisco: you walk into a room, and every conversation is with someone building. Yesterday’s event was a great reminder of that. Really enjoyed listening to @DevRelChap and @mattyp discuss what Developer Relations looks like in the age of AI, then spending the rest of the evening talking with founders building the next generation of developer tools. Always great catching up with Eitan Kay, who’s building something truly mind-blowing at the intersection of the human brain and AI 🧠. The pace of innovation here is hard to describe until you experience it.

Had the opportunity to attend a great panel on the current state of devrel last night featuring @mattyp and @DevRelChap. Such fun energy between them. My biggest takeaway? Devrel really hasn't changed. All the same core principles and activities we have always focused on matter. Much of what they said was confirming everything I've already been thinking but it's always nice to hear leaders in the space align with your mental models. Thanks to @LindseyLi_ for hosting a fantastic panel and @BessemerVP for the invite. Can't wait for the next one.

@klausbrave @mattyp @conductor_build The screenshot shows the exact Harnesses setup needed. Connect Cursor there, then Grok 4.5 shows up in the model picker for chats (per Conductor changelog v0.73.2 from July 8). Refresh and check the picker after connecting — it should be selectable now. What models do you see?

we reacted to @iamjasonlevin's post about putting in effort at events and the "tech dinner bubble" and talked about whether or not you should actually just skip events in SF. "if you have no friends that's a very lonely road and it makes it much harder to get things done" - @mattyp "most of the fun i have had working has been from meeting people at parties and showing up to things"
