@thegiantpunda @Explosions_Fire Where in the tweet did he pick on the bloke? Everyone knows they have no control and have to ask the question. Be an absolute douche to have a go.

@Explosions_Fire I get it but you're picking on a minimum wage dude whose job requires them to ask you. Do you think they want to ask you to round up for charity because they're civic-minded?

@sydney_ev I run Continentals, great grip and quiet. While expensive they do last. As long as the load index is correct the tyres are fine.

If considering an #EV, regarding tyres, you DO NOT need EV specific tyres. sure they might help with some noise, but they are NOT a requirement. you can replace them with normal tyres of correct sizes.

@SatPaper Of course we can afford it. We can also afford to not have an RUC or fuel excise. Taxes which target lower income people who tend to live further from work & public transport infrastructure. But instead, we subsidise the fossil fuel industry & give away our natural resources.

Charging an EV is not like refuelling. You don’t “go somewhere” to charge. You plug in at home. Game changer once you understand this. ....but some.. still won't.

@RichardPla85660 @rexy_555 @ev_australia You do understand people charge late at night, right? If they aren't using solar. Most of the draw is below 32a, more likely 15a. You also don't charge daily. The grid experiences far more load when it's hot & everyone is running 15kW of airconditioning in peak times.

@rexy_555 @ev_australia Yes, if everyone had an electric car and charged from home every substation would collapse. In the very unlikely event that that wind, solar and unicorn farts could generate the required electricity in any case.

@tonycartman1 @Stankhound @ev_australia This is a solid idea. The savings on running costs with an EV would well and truly pay for hire costs. If there were other long trips be a good case to buy a hybrid. The diesel cost for the trip would be at least a grand at the moment. Ouch.

@darkturkey27 @ev_australia Oh well done Vernon. You really got him a good one. No wonder everyone talks about your wit. If you drive Sydney to Melbourne daily, then no charging at home probably isn't the best bet. But 900kms, drive halfway, charge for 30 minutes while you rest for safety and drive on.

@ev_australia So, by this logic, if I were to drive from Sydney to Melbourne, I would need to return home to charge once the battery was depleted, meaning that I would never actually complete the journey. A game changer?? Right 🙄

@colinwalker79 Yeah, but the 1.8m vehicles are killing 32m families with highest energy bills in decades, and taking up more tax money for subsidies and grants.

EXCLUSIVE from @oliver_wright Diesel supply shortages will begin to hit Britain from mid-April as stock bought before the Iran war runs out, ministers have been warned Senior industry figures have alerted the government to a looming fall in imports of the fuel and urged them to start considering contingency plans in place to reduce demand One source said that while the UK would not “run out” of diesel, supplies could drop by more than 10 per cent by the middle of next month The UK consumes roughly 23 million tonnes of diesel per year, of which about 5 million tonnes is imported from refineries in the Netherlands and Belgium Some of this fuel originates from the Middle East, which has been affected by the Iranian blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. The UK also imports about 7% of its diesel directly from the Middle East Four separate industry sources told The Times that there were concerns over the medium-term supply of the fuel, warning that motorists could see some disruption at the pumps Some smaller forecourts are already finding it harder to access diesel suppliers as terminals — which store and handle the fuel — are prioritising clients with set contracts thetimes.com/uk/politics/ar….

I've decided its time the slow cooker got some love. Massively out of fashion. It's the most underestimated and undervalued cooking utensil in the kitchen and yet makes the most fabulous meals and I'm not having it!!! LET'S HEAR IT FOR THE SLOW COOKERS

@binghach @RicFinlay I just thought with some of those huge first innings totals when they batted for 2 days would of had a couple more on. Maybe that's it the batsmen only batted once where bowlers were bowling twice

I woke up to Moons not playing and Tahlia making her international debut! Go well T! 👏 And if there is any element of doubt with Moons, don’t play her at all during this ODI series (she can overtake Midge in runs, hopefully in the T20I WC).

If you're in the new car market and don't live in the Pilbara and not at least considering an electric or at least plug in hybrid then you have a parasite eating away at the part of your brain that handles basic reasoning.

My ex-wife was hardcore anti-EV. Battery fires. Charging too slow. Range anxiety. She called me today for advice… She’s buying a Zeekr 7X on Monday. No debate. No convincing. Just reality. It’s hard to argue with your credit balance. ⚡🔋 #Bettrification #EVs #RIPICE

@EVCurveFuturist My son just started a new business. He has 10 employees that require a boss to make good decisions. And dependable equipment. He needed a shop truck, one that would tow trailers and equipment. And be there when needed. He went down and got a new F-250. Hard to argue with quality.

@tregevis @aaronsmith @binghach @simonahac yep working out this green alternative now, so he has a battery car, that also requires a battery at home to charge his battery car, and a large array of solar panels, inverters and controllers to charge both those battery's. now lets just compare that price toa liter ofpetrol.

This little app by @simonahac compares the cost per km of the top 10 selling ICE vehicles with the top 10 selling EVs, using current petrol prices and the average charging rate over the past 24 hours. It's both fascinating and compelling. petrol-vs-electric.vercel.app/models
