We’re making public transport free for a month to take pressure off the pump. It won’t solve every problem, but it is an immediate step I can take to help Victorians right now.

@JacintaAllanMP You wouldn't need to do this if your dickhead mate in church in Canberra dropped the excise on fuel. But no Victorians go further in debt while Canberra racks in the taxes

@JacintaAllanMP Can't wait to be crammed in like sardines on the way to the CBD. If petrol was $20 a litre I'd still choose driving over smelling someone's bad breath at 8am on a bus.

@darkturkey27 @LynGrah77334182 You’re arguing a road trip… against a daily habit. That’s the whole point you’ve missed. EV owners don’t ‘go to charge’ most days… they wake up full. Road trips? Same as petrol- you stop on the way. Difference is… you stop far less often in daily life.

Charging an EV is not like refuelling. You don’t “go somewhere” to charge. You plug in at home. Game changer once you understand this. ....but some.. still won't.

@ev_australia @LynGrah77334182 Is that right? Let’s discuss the second line shall we? “You don’t go somewhere to charge” So, can you drive from Sydney to Melbourne, without going “somewhere to charge”? There are cracks in an argument, but it’s not mine…

@LynGrah77334182 @ev_australia This isn’t about whether you’re an EV owner or not, it’s about the OP foolishly posting a ridiculous claim that you just recharge at home…

@LynGrah77334182 @ev_australia Erm…. Keep trying to validate yourself when the OP clearly stated that you charge at home, you yourself then stated that there are multiple locations along the Hume to recharge, contradicting the OPs post It IS you..

@LynGrah77334182 @ev_australia I’m not being silly at all, the OP clearly stated to “plug in at home” so what you have done is displayed on a global platform your inability to comprehend basic English.. Good job 🙄

@darkturkey27 @ev_australia You’re being silly. There are dozens of fast & ultra-rapid charging locations strategically placed along the Hume Highway (the most direct route) to ensure most modern EVs can make the ~880km trip. Check PlugShare or A Better Route Planner (ABRP).

@binghach @ev_australia But the OP very clearly stated to charge at home.. right? Home isn’t 450km from home, that’s just impossible. Therefore the post is at best an error, or most likely plain old bullsh1t..

@darkturkey27 @ev_australia Oh well done Vernon. You really got him a good one. No wonder everyone talks about your wit. If you drive Sydney to Melbourne daily, then no charging at home probably isn't the best bet. But 900kms, drive halfway, charge for 30 minutes while you rest for safety and drive on.

@shaunwor @craigkellyAFEE The word is brake, not break.. And brake fluid ages whether being used or not zzz A post that tells me that you have zero idea about how any type of vehicle works..

@darkturkey27 @craigkellyAFEE Zero -obviously never owned an EV - my Tesla is at nearly 80,000km and zero of such “maintenance” needed so far. EV use regen breaking so hardly use break pads or fluid at all. A pst that tells me the writer has never owned a EV.

So they plug in overnight, increasing demand on the grid, which is met by coal fired power stations ramping up to meet the increase in demand. Great idea for coal-fired powered cars.
Sydney EV 🔋☀️@sydney_ev

This is brilliant. So many against EVs as they can’t be charged at home by people living in units. They never offer solutions, or even criticise solution. Well now we have a solution that works!

@ausdesicompany @amitjs2022 @avarakai No, it’s a media beat up.. From what I understand, Australia has over 1700 servos, and just 50 of them have run out of one of the fuels they offer, most commonly diesel..

Situation in Australia is very bad that they have not got petrol / diesel supplies from Singapore as intended. So, fuel pumps running dry. People are even stealing petrol from parked cars. Now, ATF is also suspended. Comparatively, NZ is managing well so far.

China has cut Australia off for Jet A1 fuel (kerosene), all of next months shipments cancelled. Normally 12/month. There’s one ship inbound. That’s it. China is Australia’s largest Jet Fuel supplier.

@Heygabagaba1 Which is not logic, of course, but straight-up denial. The mortality rate from nosocomial Covid (aka Covid picked up in the hospital) in Victoria was 11%. 11% of people who picked up Covid in a hospital died of it. Not. A. Fucking. Cold.

Jesus fucking Christ on a cracker. On 22 March 2026, in Wales, at least 76% of patients in hospital with Covid CAUGHT COVID AT THE HOSPITAL. Healthcare providers everywhere: have healthcare workers wear N95s! Clean the air! Stop giving patients diseases they did not come in with
