Me: (after losing a massive amount of weight) at 5’5 and weighing roughly 170 pounds. Women carry weight differently, especially when they work out to maintain and grow muscle. At one point I weighed 135 pounds and I looked unwell and malnourished. I look, feel, and perform my best between 165 and 175. I’ll never try to beat a scale, and I’ll never concern myself with BMI. I will listen to my body, focus on my health, and do what allows me to be genuinely healthy.

I feel the need to speak out about this. As a psychiatrist, I have worked with this population of homeless people, who abuse drugs, in the past. I tried my best and worked very hard to help. Spencer Pratt is 100% correct. The reality is that 95%+ of homeless people are violent drug addicts who do not want help. It is great to be compassionate, but it is harmful to hard-working people to be stupid and allow the issue to continue. They do not need beds. They need mandatory treatment and to be locked away in a treatment center or jail!

Housing is a human right. No one in this city should have to worry about losing their home or end up on the streets due to systemic issues. Homelessness and the housing crisis are not two different problems, they are two sides of the same coin. And they have the same solution – permanent affordable housing. Trickle down economics is a fallacy. The market cannot provide affordable housing.
