Ok I'm not here to dispute Stephen Curry's importance I just want to yell about the math. 25% of $11 billion is $2.75 million. The least valuable NBA team, by Forbes, is Memphis at $3.5 billion. So no this isn't true. Does it matter? Not really. I just don't like the hyerbole. Golden State's valuation is mostly the market and the arena and surrounding development (that's how they basically lap the field in actual revenue). Curry means a great deal to that franchise. You'd measure his overall financial impact on that team in the billions. But it's more like 20%, not 75%.
