This is HUGE: Scientists just built a chip that can generate any laser color on demand. Researchers at NIST have developed a new kind of photonic chip that can produce a wide range of laser wavelengths from a single device. Instead of needing a separate laser for every color, this system converts one infrared input into many precise wavelengths directly on chip. The breakthrough comes from a multilayer design combining Lithium Niobate and Tantalum Pentoxide. These materials enable powerful nonlinear optical processes like Second-Harmonic Generation and Sum-Frequency Generation, allowing precise control over light frequency inside tiny circuits. Results are impressive 👀 The chip can generate a broad spectrum of wavelengths from a single infrared laser, while supporting thousands of photonic circuits on a single wafer. And it does all this in a compact, scalable platform instead of bulky lab setups. This could change everything, because today’s advanced systems like quantum computing and optical clocks depend on large, expensive and highly specialized laser systems. By shrinking multi-wavelength laser generation onto a chip, this approach could enable scalable quantum technologies, faster optical communication and next generation AI hardware. Acceleration is everywhere

TT-Lang from Tenstorrent from Groq? It’s a Python-based DSL that lets you write high-performance custom kernels and fused ops directly on Tensix cores, Blackhole, etc.. Think “Triton but made for Tenstorrent hardware.” V 1.0 next week

HAMMER F1 🇺🇸 Hammer from Vector (@VectorTf ) is 10" long range FPV with 10 pin universal payload port, fiber optic connector port and picatinny rail for rapid payload integration. "As former operators ourselves, we understood exactly what they needed to win, and we engineered every inch of the Hammer F1 around those requirements. With heavy emphasis on American supply chains and expanded manufacturing capabilities at our Utah factory, Vector is ready to deliver the Hammer F1 at scale to our warfighters" - Andy Yakulis, CEO and Co-Founder of Vector Vector is backed by Harpoon Ventures (@HarpoonVentures) that have also backed Ursa Major, Firestorm Labs, Kodiak and Ulysses to name a few. @Ravenismeee Implement discipline in your life. Have a daily regiment that is ordered and structured. Never avoid doing something because 'you don't feel like it'. Keep track of everything you accomplish no matter how small. Gym and diet are a non negotiable.

@isaakfreeman No it isn't, but MIT is substandard, replete with coddled megalomaniacs. You should have more faith in yourself, but it appears your interests are driven by popularity, one that is a decadent trend. Digital humans? Why replace us by a pantomime of self-deification?

I’m leaving MIT and not continuing into my PhD. AI is coming too fast for humans to keep up. But there might be a way: I realized digital humans are more possible than most think. With capable AI researchers helping, maybe for $10B, maybe in less than 10 years, on 50k H100s.
