Referee Isaac Barnett showed incredible care and compassion towards Kelsey Mitchell tonight when she needed help. WNBA officials have taken a lot of criticism lately. He deserves praise for this.

@stoolpresidente This league is becoming a joke. Terrible lame duck commissioner, horrible refereeing. How in the world was Maybrey not ejected for that hit?

Been seeing a lot of chatter from fans over the last month about potential coaching hires and no matter which direction Boston went there was going to be naysayers. Sacco re-hire? Forget about it. Jay Leach hire? What has he truly done comments and internal hire criticism. Experienced NHL coaches like Sullivan, Tocchet, Laviolette, Tortorella, etc. would have been labeled lazy retread hires. Candidates without NHL head coaching experience would have been labeled as cheap, yes men hires. And to be fair, there’s truth in all of this. But was there one candidate Sweeney could hire that would satisfy everyone? The answer is no, and mainly because of who the hiring GM is. Sure, Misha Donskov could have been a fun hire. But he doesn’t even have HC experience at the AHL level. So there’s questions there too. He was also focused on making the Stanley Cup Finals last week and not focusing on Boston - at all. Marco Sturm is a former Bruin, who knows what to expect from this market and fan base, yes, but more importantly he knows what they deserve. Damn him for that - that’s such negative! He was a hard working player, and has also put together an impressive coaching resume over the last decade both internationally, domestically, and at the AHL, and NHL level. I understand people are unhappy with the organization for various reasons and for over various stretches of time. And I’m not telling you not to be. Fans are majorly important to the professional sport landscape and are entitled to their opinions. But lately surrounding the #NHLBruins it feels like every decision the team makes is a lose-lose scenario with a strong portion of fans - at least until Don Sweeney is fired and parades are thrown. Which isn’t happening at least for a bit (unless things keep going south). Can we all just take it easy and see how things play out here? There will be many roster moves to come in the next month. I know they FINISHED 5th last! Let’s be honest though - while MOST of that finish is because it was a terrible mix of players (built by Sweeney). A LITTLE bit of that finish was in part due to key injuries to their top two defensemen and also by design after selling the way that they did the deadline. Both of which tend to be conveniently ignored. They hoped to fall as far as they could at that point - management, not coaches and players. The difference between October’s roster after an offseason of currently unknown additions, and April’s roster after a full on sell at the trade deadline is yet to be realized. As Pattie Brooks says to Herb in Disney’s “Miracle” - It’s June! Is there even ice? Let’s see what potential trades, offer sheets, UFA adds happen before truly analyzing next year’s roster.

It wouldn't be the NHL offseason without trade rumours. The latest player to be linked to the Boston Bruins is Elias Pettersson. #NHLBruins If you were the GM, would you try to trade for him? 🏒youtu.be/If37PDI352Y

With Mike Sullivan now with NYR. Rick Tocchet, John Tortorella, Peter Laviolette, Dan Bylsma headline experienced head coaching candidates. Not sure I see *many* fits for BOS. Sweeney did mention *some* level of NHL coaching experience as an ideal pre-req. I’ll leave this here
