If you truly study everything we’ve witnessed since the June 2021 NFT boom, you start to realise something pretty brutal: almost nothing here actually lasts. The hype fades. The agencies disappear. The VCs move on. Teams dissolve. Roadmaps stall. Even the loudest communities eventually go quiet. It’s honestly the biggest shame, because I’ve loved so many of the projects I’ve collected across different chains over the years. But at the same time, it’s the strongest bull case for the thing I’ve always been most passionate about ~ early onchain inscriptions. Because when all the noise eventually dies off, the only thing that really survives is provenance. And art on Bitcoin is pure provenance. Literally immutable. Which is why I think the earliest pieces end up looking less like typical NFTs and more like the first generation of Pokémon cards today.

This turns what was, at best, degeneracy, into the self-fulfilling prophecy of unlimited cushions, because that person is now followed by 10k sheep who will hyper rotate into and out of everything they buy. FOMO rewards no one other than farmers, deployers, and insider traders through further amplifying their influence. It removed the entirety of IQ barrier for trading / using a wallet / self-DD and tracking. It essentially invites air headed retards to swarm the floors of every single token whether it's the cure for cancer or a tiktok meme. And both wind up suffering the same fate.

"fomo dynamics" are not nuking the trenches. the theme of the trenches for the last year or so has been simple. >user has a high Phantom wallet balance >user screenshots balance, posts to twitter >everyone sees the balance and coins after a little bit, people realized they could just buy a few hundred dollars of another token and include it in their screenshot, prompting viewers to see it next to a massive win and fomo into it moonshot scripted/staged videos of a random high school kid with 6 figures in his wallet on tiktok screenshots of fake PnLs posted all throughout twitter, sometimes even being reused by 10 different accounts. all engagement is good engagement. with fomo, it's all transparent and verifiable, far more so than screenshots of anon wallets success stories as organic user generated content drove trench adoption
