I take the @LIRR to work everyday and pay $250+ for a monthly “peak” ticket for over 1 year now. I have never had the train come on time a single time. Not a single time. You get to work at least 10-15 mins later than estimated on a daily basis.
How has this become acceptable?

@bkmets1 As long as this continues and the rates after midnight happen, yes

LONG ISLAND WEATHER@joey17456
I think we will see models go east starting at 6z not completely miss but gradually ticking east throughout tomorrow. Not comfortable putting out a snowmap when I know it’s gonna change. We will continue to monitor any trends.

🌬️WATCHING A BLIZZARD DEVELOP FOR SUNDAY — EASTERN IMPACTS INCREASING
Don’t be surprised if Blizzard Watches are issued from eastern Suffolk County through the Cape and Islands of southern New England.
Confidence continues to grow that a powerful storm will remain offshore on Sunday throwing snow along our coastal areas. This had all the makings of a full-fledged BLIZZARD.
The latest 12z EUROPEAN ensemble guidance shows a very tight clustering of low-pressure centers, with very few members tracking northwest which tells me we will keep the low offshore this weekend
A tremendous surge of cold, dry air is expected to rush in on the storm’s western flank, creating a dramatic cutoff in accumulations.
COASTAL IMPACTS COULD BE SIGNIFICANT
Along the coast, impacts could be substantial:
➡️ Wind gusts over 40 mph
➡️ Blowing and drifting snow
➡️ Dangerous travel conditions
➡️ Elevated coastal flooding, enhanced by the full moon
These factors combined raise the risk for true blizzard conditions in parts of eastern Suffolk County and southern New England.
WHERE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE MOST LIKELY
At this point, the highest risk zone includes:
• Eastern Long Island
• Cape Cod
• The Islands
• Coastal Maine, especially SE Maine
These areas have the best overlap of heavy snow, strong winds, and prolonged duration.
Still fine-tuning the details, but confidence is increasing in a high-impact coastal storm.
More updates tomorrow morning on the @PIX11News from 4am - 11am 🌨️💨
