@PeterKufa2 @Mathuthu @MadzivaNehemiah Actually not! Article 82 doesn't define what constitutes a "team". Not all Senegal players left the field of play, nor refused to play. One could argue that the match officials of the day interpreted the regulations differently and allowed the match to proceed.

@Mathuthu @MadzivaNehemiah Articles 82 and 84 specify the exact offence and the exact penalty for such. That is what they've just done. You now want to prescribe a new penalty to be prescribed by CAF which is not in their regulations kkkkkk. They only took a decision consistent with the body's rules.Simple.

@JJosephOtim @Tahaimani18 @JacobsBen Article 84 references Article 82 which, unfortunately, uses terms that are not clearly defined and subject to interpretation.

@Tahaimani18 @JacobsBen Didn't the officials on ground know the so called article 84? They should have handled the 3-0 automatically to morroco at that time. Not two months later.

Although AFCON rules state walking off or refusing to play for a prolonged period is grounds for elimination, the decision to strip Senegal of the AFCON title two months after their trophy lift is a bad look for CAF. It should be within the power of the officials in real time to disqualify a team, but it's a hollow victory for Morocco to appeal and win in this manner, weeks after the trophy lift. Morocco accepted Senegal's return from their 10-minute walk off, gladly resumed play and took their penalty. Missing it, losing the game, then appealing to gain the trophy doesn't sit right, even if by the letter of the law there are grounds to do so.

@Tahaimani18 @JacobsBen The problem is not Morocco - they were right to appeal. The problem is CAF - the ruling is silly.

@ekomobong_mike @JacobsBen @AsisatOshoala Match commissioners and refs are the cause of all these problems. They knew the rules but failed to apply it. Moroccans should have protested without playing the game again.

@ekomobong_mike @JacobsBen @AsisatOshoala By the letter of the law, CAF is still not technically correct. They are relying on Article 82 of the AFCON Regulations which, unfortunately is vague. While it was the majority of the Senegal team that left, technically it wasn't the whole team.

This is a perfect example of how rules and sportsmanship don’t always align. By the letter of the law, CAF might be technically correct, but football is also about fairness and integrity. Senegal walked off briefly, Morocco accepted the restart, and the game continued—so retroactively awarding the trophy feels hollow. It’s a reminder that winning on paper isn’t always winning in spirit, and governing bodies need to balance enforcement with what actually feels right on the field.

@Engr_Jonson @SkySportsNews Not all of them left the pitch, and the referee allowed those that left to come back and continue the match. The game was played and finished. This is a silly ruling, it overrides the authority of the ref and the match officials that handled this game. A fine would have sufficed.

The dark day African football died. 💀⚽️ Senegal wins the game on the pitch. Morocco wins the trophy in a boardroom 2 months later. This is no longer sport; it’s a legal heist. Shameless people They brought shame to African football You can take the medals, but you can’t take the 1-0 scoreline from the world’s memory. Are we awarding trophies for "playing by the rules" or for actually scoring goals? 🤡

It all starts with education. Owning 30% of a company and not knowing how to run and manage it is a bad idea. Besides only 0.5% or less of the intended demographics will ever sea any of that benefit. Our education and medical system has only gone backwards for the past 30 years. Unemployment is the worst it has ever been. Apartheid in reverse is not a very smart idea and you don’t need a grade 12 to figure this out. Let’s not just plan for the now but also something that is sustainable for future generations. Love to all ✌️

Dear SA black people, Instead of crying about 30% black ownership of Companies, why don’t you create your own 100% black owned businesses? Why are there so few of those?

@RedToGreen8 @Finnthehuman80 You make some valid points. However, there's no requirement for *every* company in South Africa to have 30% black ownership, is there?

This is a fair statement that deserves consideration. [As an example]: A white person who takes years to create a company, involving years or research, product creation, marketing, sales, etc must now hand over 30% equity to what amounts to a group of random strangers? Why can’t they simply hire the best and brightest (regardless of race), to position their company for the best possible success. Everyone benefits that way. There’d be far less antagonism that way, and prevent any freeloading. I’ve owned companies in another country, and have always hired based on merit. History shows that hiring people based on skin colour, gender etc doesn’t result in the highest performing organizations. If you are white, black, man or woman, and you are the BEST candidate for the job, that’s who I hire. Filling quotas just to fill quotas always affects the consumer in the end. They end up being the ones who suffer, often paying higher prices or receiving sub standard service. The private sector is what drives the economy, and when companies do well and thrive, the economy thrives. Just look at Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia etc. It’s the long game. Think about our children, and their children, 50 years hence. If a country is to thrive, we must encourage the best and the brightest, and not prop up companies by regulating who they can hire and who they can’t. Short term thinking will hurt us long term. I’m sure many will disagree, and I welcome your perspective and input. I was born my body and that of course comes with my own historical biases. We can’t change how we were born, but we can change or minds when presented with other’s perspectives. Peace out.

@mukuru1010 Interesting discussions here. @mukuru1010 if the backstory doesn’t change how bad the whole thing was, then how and why is it relevant? Surely those who want to know the whole story can dig it up but those who want to talk about the incident itself are at liberty to do so.

All that is bad and there is not disagreement however the story leading to those events must be told and that does not in any way justify Gukurahundi.

Online date decided to bring a friend to the restaurant unannounced and both acted as if I didn't exist at the table. I excused myself to the toilet, headed for the exit as soon as I was in the clear, and left them with the bill. Blocked the date's number and never looked back.

@Gowjas @GodPenuel There’s no such thing as ‘middle class’. There are only two economic classes as we all know, it’s either you’re rich or poor. This category is fictitious and was specifically created for blacks to dig themselves deeper into debt by borrowing money from the banks & buy on credit.
