Congrats Natalie Smith, you’ve been named as an HONORABLE MENTION for the BVBJ Fellowship! Smith is the Founder and CEO of @citizenspcs, a D.C.dual language immersion elementary school opening in the fall of 2021. Smith has 20 years of experience working in local public schools.

While they were not selected this year for the top 25, these seven Black Leaders received high praise from the Selection Committee for their outstanding work in communities. Congrats to these amazing activists! #blackjustice #blackvoicesforblackjustice

Congratulations Trinice McNally! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the BVBJ Fellowship. McNally is an organizer, activist and student affairs professional. She is the founder of the @ncnwhq, co-founder of @UNCF and founding director of the CDIMA at the @udc_edu.

Congratulations Zyahna Bryant! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the BVBJ Fellowship. Bryant is an author, community organizer and activist studying at the University of Virginia. Bryant currently serves on the inaugural Virginia African American Advisory Board.

Congratulations Makia Green! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the BVBJ Fellowship. Green is a Black liberation organizer with @DMVBlackLives and @workingfamilies. Green fights to abolish the prison state and end intra-community violence and wealth inequality.

Congratulations Jawana Hardy! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the BVBJ Fellowship. Hardy is the Founder of Guns Down Friday, an outreach program that provides resources to communities affected by youth homicide, suicide and mental health illnesses.

Congratulations NeeNee Tay! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the BVBJ Fellowship. NeeNee Tay is a core organizer for @dmvblacklives, a grassroots collective of activists, organizers and healers fighting for Black liberation. @ItsNeeTay

Congratulations Alex Clark! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the BVBJ Fellowship. Alex is the Founder of Prime Ability, a sports program that infuses sports training with character development for young people. He also works as a teacher & coach in D.C. @BroadwayClark

Congratulations Dr.Charlayne Hayling-Williams! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the BVBJ Fellowship. Dr. Hayling-Williams is the Founding President of Community Wellness Ventures, a comprehensive human services agency revolutionizing the provision of care in D.C.

Congratulations Ashley McSwain! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the BVBJ Fellowship. McSwain is the Executive Director at @cflsdc, a nonprofit serving re-entry women & families. She has worked in the human services field for over 25 years.

Congratulations Niciah Mujahid! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the Black Voices for Black Justice Fellowship. Mujahid is the Founder and Director of @herbandtemple, curating sacred healing spaces, content, curricula and products for holistic wellness.

Congratulations Liz Jones! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the Black Voices for Black Justice Fellowship. Jones is the Founder of Greenwithin, an organization creating sustainable, local food opportunities for underserved DC residents.

Congratulations Ty Hobson-Powell! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the Black Voices for Black Justice Fellowship. He is the Founder and Director of Policy of @concernedcitizensdc, improving Black quality of life in DC as well as policing practices. @TyHobsonPowell

Congratulations Asha Burwell! You’ve been selected for the TOP 25 list for the Black Voices for Black Justice Fellowship. Asha is an advocate + organizer for the Black liberation movement. She’s an aspiring lawyer working as a legislative analyst and a @NBLSA chapter president.

Congratulations Destini Philpot, you've earned a spot on the BVBJ Fellowship TOP 25 list! Philpot is a non-binary activist who co-founded Good Kids Mad City Baltimore, leads at Students Demand Action Baltimore and serves as youth ambassador with Baltimore Ceasefire 365.

Congratulations @Reggieblack227, you've earned a spot on the BVBJ Fellowship TOP 25 list! Black is an advocacy director at People for Fairness Coalition, an organization aiming to end housing instability in the D.C. metro area using advocacy, outreach and peer mentoring.
