Maybe this is obvious, but to the degree @BankofAmerica prioritizes the #PPPLoan only to those who are already in debt with BoA, it is effectively using taxpayer money to reduce the default risk of its loan portfolio (because money is fungible).

Bank of America is blocking small businesses from getting COVID loans/grants unless they've borrowed from BofA before. Other banks will follow suit. Why? Banks want to ensure small biz with prior loans survive & use grants to pay them back. Other small biz left out in the cold.

Bank of America is taking #PPPloan applications, but only if the small biz already has a checking AND lending relationship with the bank. So if you're a small biz that never before needed a loan, you're out of luck.

Are you kidding me @BankofAmerica with this requirement of having a credit card to apply for the PPP? What type of scam is this. I have been a loyal customer for years with my business accounts. #bankofamerica #PPPloan
