If you use ChartMogul, you’re going to love this 👇 We’ve completely redesigned how invoices work inside customer profiles. You can now add, edit, view, disable, and delete invoices in one clean, intuitive modal. With associated payments and refunds also visible right where you need them. No more jumping between multiple tabs in a data source. No more piecing invoices together manually. Everything in one place. The way it should be. Watch the demo 👇

This started with a hypothesis I couldn’t prove - until now: Do more pricing plans actually help companies grow faster? I partnered with ChartMogul to test it, using data from 6K+ companies, from early-stage apps to mature enterprises. Here is what we learned:

AI hasn’t disrupted most core SaaS value propositions (unless you’re in specific categories like enrichment, language learning, etc). What it has changed is the mindset. Buyers now expect: 1. Software to be “Intelligent” as table stakes 2. Lower prices 3. More functionality & a faster rate of innovation Only point 1 is completely AI-driven. Point 2 is mostly due to the market being flooded with competing solutions. Point 3 is due to a mix of: – SaaS teams being more focused on development velocity than in previous years (the perception they might be disrupted by AI is part of this) – AI coding models boosting engineer productivity (and increasingly PM productivity) – Open source for everything making it easier/faster to build (e.g. TipTap, etc)
Heshie Brody@heshie

I don’t think self vibecoded software is the future for businesses A couple of months ago I vibecoded a tool for a friends business his entire staff has been using it for six months now (37 people) the thing is, he’s constantly sending me feature requests, bug fixes The app is pretty complicated since it deals with insurance benefits verification so for someone that doesn’t have software development experience you can’t just prompt to fix it (believe me, he tried) recently, the API provider changed something that broke everything he’s getting really tired of dealing with it and as Peer points out that’s why saas was built in the first place somebody who’s not in the software business will find it really annoying to now have to deal with all the maintenance saas is not dead

🚀 New in ChartMogul You can now import Free Trials (with plans) and Free Subscriptions, giving you a complete view of your PLG SaaS funnel, from free to paid. Free trials (with plans) and free subscription activity will appear in customer profiles and reports automatically for @stripe and @recurly users – or you can import them via our API. As part of this release we’ve also: 🔁 Renamed charts for clarity (e.g. “Subscribers” → “Paid Subscribers”) 📊 Added new charts: – All Subscribers (free + paid) – All Subscriptions (free + paid) – Trial-to-Free-or-Paid Conversions – Paid Subscriber Churn Rate ✨ Updated the Free Trials chart – it now shows all trials started per period and can be filtered by plan. 🎯 Introduced new filters, like Plan (at subscription start) and Trial-to-conversion in days. There are also plenty of smaller improvements across the app – for example, you can now see how much revenue or how many subscribers you gained or lost from free-to-paid upgrades or paid-to-free downgrades directly in data tables. This update gives you a full picture of both free and paid subscription activity, making ChartMogul the most comprehensive analytics platform for product-led growth SaaS.

Next week I’ll be in Berlin 🇩🇪 at ARRtist Summit – the largest gathering of SaaS founders and revenue leaders in the DACH region. I’ll be speaking on a topic I’ve never talked on publicly before: How to build a high-performance product engineering function. I’m a product person at heart, not an engineer. So this talk will come from the perspective of a product-focused solo-founder, and the 11-year journey of building a SaaS company that’s kept rate of innovation one of our highest priorities. I’ll share what I’ve learned (and unlearned) across three pillars: Architecture – how to build the foundations to set yourself up for success. Team & leadership – what really matters when recruiting and organizing your engineering team. Process – how to keep momentum without drowning in bureaucracy. Why might this be worth your time? It’ll be a rare take on engineering velocity from a non-engineer who’s lived the challenges of running a software company for over a decade. Huge thanks to the ARRtist team for having me, I'm looking forward to connecting with SaaS folks from across Europe and beyond.

🚀 August has been an intense month of shipping at ChartMogul! Here are some of the highlights: 🔗 New HubSpot destination → Send SaaS metrics straight from ChartMogul to company records in HubSpot. 📈 Scenarios → Project ARR and subscriber growth, run what-if analyses, and figure out which growth lever really matters most. ✨ Edit enrolled sequences → One of the most requested enhancements since we launched Sequences earlier this year. 📤 New export → Download a CSV of “MRR per Customer per Month per Plan” under Settings & Data → Exports. ⚡ Smarter automations: ⚙️ “Customer classified as duplicate” trigger → now fires on updates, not just customer creation ⚙️ “Customer created or updated” trigger → define exactly which field updates trigger your automations 🗂 Tasks for everyone → Tasks are now available to all Staff and Admin users — no CRM seat required. 📊 Better subscriber insights → When filtering Subscribers or Subscriber Movements charts by plan, you’ll now see two new rows in the data table: • Subscribers Entering Segment • Subscribers Leaving Segment This gives you a clearer picture of subscriber movements over time. 👩🏻‍💻 New API endpoints → Add, edit, or disable rows of billing data ingested via our integrations (e.g. Stripe, Chargebee, etc). This unlocks the ability to create “sidecar logic” to customize integration behavior beyond the default configuration. 🤑 Add Opportunities in ARR → You can now create Opportunities with deal amounts in ARR, perfect for annual deals! 🔥 And we’re not done yet, a couple more things are going live before the month ends. This is the pace you need to hit in 2025 to stay competitive in SaaS 💪

If you run a SaaS business, you need to try this 👇 ChartMogul just launched Scenarios – the fastest, most insightful way to project your ARR & Subscribers and run powerful (and fun!) what-if analyses. Imagine seeing exactly how your business would grow if the next 5 years looked like the last 6 months… then asking: What if the future looked different? 💡 Examples: • What if churn dropped by 20%? • What if we raised prices by 50%… but signups slowed? With Scenarios you can: ✅ Project growth based on recent performance ✅ Layer multiple what-if scenarios or compare them side-by-side ✅ Phase in changes over months or years ✅ See every scenario vs your baseline projection Why it matters: Every SaaS business has a lever that matters more than the others, be it churn, acquisition, or pricing. Scenarios makes it obvious which lever will have the biggest impact so you can focus where it counts and smash through the dreaded SaaS growth ceiling. Check the “Scenarios” section in your ChartMogul account and start modeling your growth today. 📌 More details in the comments.

You already have a brand. The question is whether you’re shaping it on purpose. Most early-stage startups wait too long to think about brand. It feels vague. Hard to measure. Easier to postpone. But brand happens anyway. Every tweet, support ticket and product decision shapes how people see you. The best teams build it early and turn it into an advantage. Join @ChrisClickUp , @JasonMillerCA ,@nicolewojno, and @biancatwilk as they share how early brand bets paid off and what they’d do differently next time. LinkedIn (and sometimes X) is full of posts about how this week's hot AI startup has hit $100M ARR in record time 🥱 Here's some actual real data for the folks just trying to get their SaaS off the ground in the real world. Crossing $100K ARR seems to be getting harder. Since 2022, less SaaS startups are passing $100K ARR within two years of getting their first customer. That’s a big signal that the early growth environment has changed. Scaling a SaaS from $0 to >$100K ARR has never been easy, but looking at the data, it actually seems to be getting a bit harder 😬 Keep at it folks, building a successful SaaS company is worth the struggle 💪
Sofia Faustino@Sofia_SF_Lopes

1 in 10 SaaS companies still break $1M ARR in 2 years, but the path is getting tougher. More startups are staying under $100K ARR even after 2 years. The early growth playbook isn’t working like it used to. Founders need new GTM strategies to reach $1M today.
