@jasonllevin Oh, and no immunity for these rules. Any state or federal prosecutor can submit them to a grand jury for indictment. If they are convicted, they are removed from office, go to jail, and are banned from all public office forever. There is no statute of limitations.

@jasonllevin Elected federal officials and the cabinet should be banned from any form of income beside their salary. They must divest themselves of all business ventures and cannot trade stocks while in office. They get paid for a year after leaving, the stock rules apply during that time.

@carlpeachey8 @GarysLiquors @WilliamShatner My least favorite part for sure. I really liked how Enterprise and DS9 introduced grounded threats based on internally consistent rules. It made it feel real. Hoping that whatever comes next will take a page from that book, at least as far as the science stuff goes.

Frankly, it doesn’t leverage any real criticism of the shows. As far as lore breaking I think Discovery was the worst. They played fast and loose with the science.

@icyveins Honestly, the story has been fine. I wish it was a bit more filled out. I do think they are doing MUCH better with the lore beats. Lots of fun stuff getting teed up. Time will tell if they do something good with it.

@carlpeachey8 @GarysLiquors @WilliamShatner With Discovery, the spore drive, the burn, and the constant need to have a world ending, epic battle with whatever… the plots got a bit out of hand. I personally found Academy a bit more grounded, but that’s just me.
