I memorized the periodic table in high school, and I still remember all of it - not sure why I remember this to the T and lose my office keycard all the time 🤦‍♀️... Our brains really operate in weird ways...

@nicberardi disagree. in 🇧🇷 70th percentile of income is 2x minimum wage (R$ 12k/yr). not a very comfortable life. plus violence, bad public services, low income mobility. in us, 70th percentile earns ~$80k/. love my country, but unfortunately, deeply unequal.

In terms of quality of life USA > LatAm for bottom 40% LatAm = USA for 40-70% LatAm > USA 70-90% USA > LatAm 90-100%

@jefielding If no investors were taking these no-PR deals, lawyers would not recommend. Seems more of a symptom of a funding environment that favored founders, than a cause. Alternatively, would guess advice will change now that fundraising winds have shifted.

Someone please explain to me why some of the most respected venture lawyers are coaching their founder clients not to offer pro-rata to pre-seed investors. We are taking a ton of risk and are the true early believers in the company. This really sucks 😤

YC gets a lot of criticism (deservedly). But YC does a ton to expand access, not only for companies to capital, but also for investors to opportunities. When I began investing in 2013, I didn't have a personal SV network, YC helped me unlock opportunities I never would have seen

Why are people asking others on Twitter about SWIFT? Everything’s a Google search away. Wikipedia anyways has everything you could need. Also YouTube is pretty good. At least my timeline won’t be overloaded with SWIFT descriptions.

@lucaslameiras honestly, these number must change wildly depending on where you draw the line for the city + what types of homes get counted and which don't. hard to imagine that the avg home in Rio is ~20% more expensive than in SP.

Super curious about price distribution here. Pretty sure the "good" areas of Rio are way more expensive than "good" areas everywhere else (incl. NYC, London HK etc 😂😅😂). Any insights anyone?
