I think a much more productive mortgage reform in light of current conditions would be Fannie to create a mortgage product that allows borrowers to change the collateral property on their existing loan and keep the terms.

“Reporters at the paper have been scrambling to figure out the employee’s identity” They’re going to fucking destroy him
New York Magazine@NYMag

A white male New York ‘Times’ employee filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission alleging the paper had discriminated against him by not giving him a promotion because he is a white male. On Tuesday, the EEOC, now controlled by a Trump appointee who has vowed to help wage the president’s war against DEI culture, filed a civil-rights lawsuit against the ‘Times’ arguing that the paper’s efforts to satisfy its diversity goals amounted to “unlawful employment practices.” The paper itself was first to break the news of the suit but did not name the employee who made the complaint. Reporters at the paper have been scrambling to figure out the employee’s identity, driven in part by bafflement that one of their own colleagues would sell out the paper to the administration, which has used tools of the federal government to attack the press. “This has been kind of a shitshow behind the scenes — people trying to figure out who the aggrieved person is,” said another ‘Times’ staffer. The release of the complaint on Tuesday narrowed the speculation to Bryant Rousseau, a senior editor and producer on the ‘Times’’s international desk who has been with the paper for more than a decade. Good inspiration for this week where my neighbor is doing a full mounted campaign to the Cambridge Historical Commission to block a remodel on our street that would add 6 additional housing units.

On its third attempt tonight, Marblehead Town Meeting approved an “MBTA Communities–compliant” district largely centered on the 125-year-old Tedesco Country Club, meeting 3A requirements on paper while all but assuring no new housing would be built. This comment says it all.

Yeah sorry, coming more and more to believe that abundance as a left-wing project isn’t going to work. At best it’ll make things better on the margins in a few policy areas like housing. But unless you’re willing to go to war with organized labor, this will keep happening.

The MBTA Communities Law, signed in 2021 by then-Governor Charlie Baker (R), required 177 cities and towns to permit modest-density multifamily housing by right in at least one district near transit. It is designed to expand housing supply in a constrained market rather than mandate affordability, allowing municipalities to require up to about 10% of units be income-restricted—or none at all. In 2024, Governor Baker (R) was asked about the importance of Needham's compliance with the law and said; “For Massachusetts to succeed in the future we’ve got to build more housing. And a lot of it’s gotta be in places with spaces where people can afford it. I get the fact that everybody that’s got a house has a certain comfort with the way things are. But if you look at all the demographic trends, the crowd we’re losing is the 25 to 35-year-olds."

She didn't apologize for any of the terror supporting posts she made/liked/shared as an adult. She apologized for writing the N-word as a teenager. The outcome of this interaction is the least surprising story ever

Miss Israel, Melanie Shiraz, was sitting in a Williamsburg coffeeshop next to Rama Duwaji, Zohran Mandani’s wife. Once Duwaji found out that Melanie is Israeli, she suddenly refused to engage with her. Rama Duwaji and Zohran Mamdani are both antisemitic Nazis.
