@tryna_do_rite That's the one where you need to take an exam & get a license, right? I need to do more research. Probably not in my budget to get a radio at the moment, but it's something I'd like to try to save up for in the future.

Possibly absurd question, but if the cell phone grid went down, is there any good way to reliably contact a relative who lives ~ 1 hour away from me? Obviously too far for walkie talkies, I assume I'd need some kind of fancy radio? Any mutuals know stuff about radios?
