This was a good addition. TikTok was built on giving people fake engagement. Chinese bots literally train us like dogs by boosting content the CCP supports, so creators make more of that, not even realizing that their audience is fake and they’re working for the enemy.

Sad but true: China never needed to "place" influencers anywhere. (Though in some cases, they have) Most influencers can be bought off—for free—with a bit of botted engagement whenever they counter-signal the administration.
