I'm noticing a lot of anti-AI folks in the traditional art camp claiming that using AI tools for art is "lazy" and that if you just practice a lot you'll get as good or better as what AI tools can produce. This is some serious gatekeeping nonsense. It's like saying everyone could be a pro football player if they had just trained a lot. Yes, every pro football player has spent a LOT of time training and honing their skill. No, not everyone can be a pro football player. Only very few people have the required talent. The notion that if you just practice a lot you'll eventually be the next Greg Rutkowski is a total joke. It's as plausible as me becoming as good an artist as Prince was if I simply spend more time practicing playing music.

Using AI, I was able to take some old painting and make it better. First the painting. Notice how you can barely see what's even going on. Where even is this? Who are the people? Huh? You're too far away to really see the setup. Whole left side blank. Nothing here to grab onto.
